  1. Playing a home game last night I see a raised pot with KJ off suit...The flop is: A Q 10 The original raiser bets I go all in everyone folds.I say I have the nuts and show my KJ... to which my friend says you dont have the nuts! I asked him then what the nuts are on that flop, he replied, "someone could hit an ace high flush, or have aces and hit quads for the nuts" He thinks the nuts are only after all the cards are dealt, I disagree... I had the nuts. I got him to put one hundred bucks on this. So who's right?
  2. Also, something that im doing is when I win round 4, which gives 5 out of 10 tokens into round 5, you can use that to play two round 4's instead of moving up to round 5. If you are a good enough player it is very possible to build up a lot of round 5 tokens this way, and even with the couple bad beats I took (All in with JJ with a 9-7-2 rainbow flop, called by K-9, river is a 9  etc) I still have 3 round 5 tokens available most of the time. I worked my way up from the bottom and now have a much higher bankroll than when I played purely 1 table SNG's.
  3. The step tournaments at PRIMA are all single table 10 seat tourneys. At round four, 5 out of 10 get a round 5 buy in. Round five again is only a single table 10 seat tourney and the top 4 get paid. You may think it is a ripoff but my bankroll disagrees. I went from playing the 10 dollar SNGS and maybe making a cpl hundred a day to making a cpl thousand.
  4. you win tokens each round so you can play anytime you want, and I dont mind if they take money out, turning $5 into $1200 seems like a good deal to me...
  5. Its a great way to turn 5 bucks into possibly 3000 by playing a series of SNGS called "rounders". There are 5 rounds that you play. Round one is a 5 dollar entry into a single table 10 person SNG. The top 2 win an entry into round 2. The top 2 from round 2 go to round three. Then you need to place top 4 in round three and top 5 in round 4 to go to the final round. Round 5 pays the top 4 at: $3000, 1200, 800, and 500. I won 1200 on my third try and think this is the greatest thing ever.
  6. Im playing in a 20K guranteed tourney that started with over 900 people. There are about 56 people left and the blinds are 4K and 8K.I have 85K in chips. UTG I raise to 16K with AQ of spades. Someone in middle position calls and everyone else folds.Flop: 6 3 A rainbow. I lead out and bet 20K and get raised minimum, I re-raise and he goes all in. I call thinking he might have a set or A3, A6 suited. He has pocket jacks!!!! Turn is a Q, river a J! It wasnt so much as the bad-beat as the fact that I raised pre-flop and he must have know by my bet on the flop that I had an ace. So this joker put
