  1. Anyone else think its weird that bkylnflash's final hand contains 6 cards?
  2. Give him a break. You'd have to be insane to fold to that bet. He made a good read and stuck with it. As long as you dont habitually miss bets with the best hand, you should be proud of what you've done.
  3. Dunce's response is pretty much dead wrong. You played the hand fine. Small pp have good implied odds in multiway pots.In a 4-way pot, I would have done the same thing figuring someone had a queen and would call down. Flat calling is also a good option because it may sucker some other people along for the ride, but then you have to be careful because the turn could hit someone's inside straight draw.Steve
  4. $900 is a big enough BR. The variance is higher, becuase you play alot more hands, play weaker hands to the river, and because blind defense is actually an issue. However, becuase you play so many more hands, the mistakes of opponents begin to add up much more quickly. Playing at these tables is also more fun, IMO, because you get to play and win many more hands. You have to be alot looser, both pre- and post-flop, so you get into alot of new and different situations. If you get tired of the tighter full ring games, check it out.
  5. I am in the same situation as you, playing alot more now that the semester is over. I assume from your post that you play the 10-handed $1/$2? If so, I suggest trying the party $1/$2 6-max tables. The quality of play is very poor, and the players are very loose, even in the morning. I just made the switch and am loving it.
  6. PokerTracker keeps tournament and ring game stats separate.
  7. look, this is tournament poker here. if he pushes preflop, he's begging for a coinflip. see a flop, find out where you are at, and go from there. he played it fine, except the check-raise should have been a check-push.
  8. on a side note, if you are getting 11:1 pot odds and you win 1 time in 11, you don't show a huge profit, you break even. still an easy call though
  9. hahaha you guys gave these guys way too much credit (and I did as well).seat 9 to my left cold-called 3 bets with 3-5s and flopped a straight. nice.
