Missouri Casino $500 Loss Limit Law?

Recommended Posts

Had a guy tell me today they changed that law to make it no loss limits. Anyone know if theres any truth to it? Thanks.
So, casinos in Missouri don't make you leave if you lose $500 anymore?

Nope, though a couple KC-area legislators are trying to get it overturned.

I live in MO, KC area and go to these casinos alot and the loss limit has never affected me. As far as I understand it just means that you can only buy in for $500 per hour. If I sat at a 2/5 NL table with $500 and got stacked right away I guess I'd have to wait till the next hour to reload but its never happened to me. They spread a 15/30 Limit game at one of our casinos I'm not sure how those guys get around it $500 isnt much at that limit.

I'm not from Missouri and I have no ties to the state whatsoever. What i do have is alot of time on my hands. Time that would be best spent doing various tasks, tasks that I get paid to do because I'm at work. however, I get done in 10 minutes and refuse to do work for the last...5 hours of the day... Against my religion, but what i would have to say on this topic, which is very important is that you should google it.....definately google it.

So basically, you're telling us that you have the time and resources, and you don't give a shit about your job, but you still won't help out the OP?thanks for nothing.

It's actually every 2 hours, on the even hours. So if you want to buy in for $1000, buy $500 at 7:55, then wait 5 minutes and buy another $500 at 8:00. I've heard a lot of the bigger players around just keep their chips rather than cashing them in so the don't have to worry about it.I haven't heard anything on them changing that law though.

We have, without a doubt, the most insane casino rules on earth.1. Can't buy more than 500 every two hours. You have to hoard chips if you play in the 2-5 or 40-80 game they spread at Harrah's.2. They don't really allow you to chop in tourney's though most floor persons will tell you that, and then turn their heads and stop the game while you try and cut a deal. However, in tournies with larger payouts over the threshold where they withhold taxes, somebody is getting a piece of paper for the winner's share regardless of what chop you come up with.3. You have to have your players club card to even gain entrance into the casino.4. They charge you for booze while playing at the tables. I'm sure this makes Harrah's nuts.At least the poker room at Harrah's is nice, for whatever it's worth.By the way, to the guy from KU or Kansas.........nice job thumping your chest with your hoops team vs. the MO team. The enire world knows KU has a better hoops program. Guess what, for the 15th year in a row you all will get a high seed, and you won't win squat. Bill Self can't coach his way out of a paper bag during the tourney......another diddy the entire world knows. And tell me again which football team ruined your perfect season?

It used to be $500 a day.A lot of guys "play from their sock" which is a phrase that came from a regular high limit player at Ameristar that kept his $500 chips in an old sock in his pocket and just pulled them out and changed them at the table. You get the bit.The games at Harrah's and Ameristar are great action. Some killer guys (Including a regular that just took down an EPT title) but a lot of softies that keep the game profitable. I play whenever I go back home.Anyone play the new Lumiere Place room yet?

Yep. Nice room and very nice casino (compared to the crap they used to have in downtown StL). Room is still pretty new, so play and the crowds can be inconsistent. Probably my new favorite casino in StL.
