we won the world series? owl-orly.jpgim still pinching myself. but it happened finally, thank god. pretty much the same team coming back beside Renteria and Booribe. I see Tejada fitting in well and Sandoval has lost 30 lbs. I think we have an even better offense that last season, especially with Huff coming back and having one of the best young players in baseball, buster posey. Last year was a magical run that ill never forget, but i dont see us as the favorites to repeat. i do see us winning the west because of our staff and hopefully make another run at a title.predictions:93-69, 1st NL west.Matt Cain wins the cy young.

My predictions from last year:"I think 87 wins is about right...and it could be enough to win the West. Wrong. 92 wins and they needed almost all of them! Who would have known that SD would have been that good?I really don't think that Timmy will get cy young #3...in fact, I hate to say this, but I think he will take a step back this year. I'm not saying he will be bad, but his whip will probably go back up to the 1.10-1.15 range. [ Right, Timmy slipped up and his ERA went back into the 1.3 range, yikes!Definitely not happy with bringing Bengie back...I think it will be bad for the clubhouse and I was really looking forward to getting to see Posey play. Now Posey will probably start the season in the minors [Right, Giants didnt take off until Posey came up and Bengie was jettisoned.Definitely not too happy with the moves that Sabean made in the offseason. Too many utility guys who don't get on base very well and don't play good defense. In regards to DeRosa, this was right. Sabean's offseason moves didn't help the team, but his in season acquisitions of Burrell, Ross, and Lopez surely did. Gotta give him credit for that, even though I still think he sucksHopefully, the Giants' young hitters will continue to develop and our pitching carries us to the playoffs. Posey developed into one of the best catchers in the game and our pitching came up strong down the stretch and carried us to our first World Series Championship in San Francisco!Last season was seriously the most amazing sports experience I've ever had. The fact that nobody expected the Giants to win made it even better. It's so much sweeter to root for the underdog and have them come through than to root for a team that is expected to win.

well put!i cant wait to call up bradon belt. this kid is tearing the cover off the ball. we have too many infielders on our roster. i have no idea where huff is going to play when we call up belt sometime this season.side note. i heard a bunch of giants fan pitched in and got an airplane to fly over dodger stadium opening night, with a banner reading, "San Francisco Giants: 2010 World Series Champions. Beat LA!"i cant wait to hear how loud the stupid dodger fans boo when the champs take the field. im tempted to buy a standing room ticket for the home opener against the cardinals..... i want to see them unveil our world series pennant and watch the players get their rings.

bump. i think the addition of beltran was good, not glad we gave up wheeler. i didn't like the cabreara trade at first but our short stops are so horrid he will be a step up. i dont think the dbacks will catch us and we will meet the braves in the first round again.

I agree. Wheeler was a big piece to give up, but he's still a ways away, and a lot can happen to A-level pitchers. Though he is rated lower than Gary Brown than most people, I think the Giants were smart to give up Wheeler rather than Brown since Brown is more advanced, the Giants need a long-term CF a lot more than more pitching and because of the inherent risks in pitchers. They didn't give up anything for Cabrera, but he won't really help them. I'd guess he would be one of the 3 worst starting SS in the league. That might still be better than Tejada/Crawford/Fontenot though. Too bad they couldn't get someone legit.I think they win the division. They'll be an underdog in the playoffs, but if their pitchers can avoid injury, they won't be a big 'dog...

yeah. i agree on the wheeler part. we need more offense than pitching. and i dont see this team having the same run in the playoffs. all the pressure has been on our pitching for a few years now and i think it's just oo much to ask for. our offense is such a joke its horrible.
