  1. i dont know why you are acting like a ******. if i knew the answers to these questions i wouldnt have asked so dont assume i think one way or the other. i didnt follow him or make any effort to see how he was doing. i did discuss it with 2 players regarded as top players but im not going to name drop. it was also discussed by a few players on circuit radio show. by high stakes i mean to pretty mmuch anyone. when i see someone take over a million dollars out of his box and play craps with it i consider it high stakes unless he is worth some ungodly amount that just isnt possible. i was a
  2. i was recently in vegas for a month and saw that Phil seemed to be shooting dice a lot more than playing poker. ive also heard top players expressing concern for his "leak". ive heard rumors, and witnessed him playing for very high stakes but dont know how much he really plays and although he is obviously making a ton of money, if he is endagering himself. does anyone know anything solid about this.matty
  3. how did things end up with dreamclown? did d.c. eventually quit him or have they just not been playing lately.matty
  4. an interesting concept that could make you go crazy. unfortunately (or fortunately for our sanity) there is still nothing you can do but play your best and give yourself the best available opportunities.matty
  5. no its not. they play mixed games like horse in casinos all over the world and not only nosebleed games. sometimes they play the stud games with blinds like games grid and this keeps someone from getting an advantage by jumping around. there is no reason other than that people dont seem that interested in playing that you couldnt play horse or some variation online.
  6. i cant believe im replying to this, but its really not that difficult. there are advantages to big and small stacks but the greater advantages lie in having a short stack, especially in no limit. if your playing a world class player would you rather have 125k or 5k.. assuming your wc player is better than you you better go with the 5 k or your gonna get hurt bad. its a lot easier to play a short stack well and not get into trouble.the other key to this is that you can leave whenever you want. you dont have to repeatedly survive all in confrontations all night if you dont want too. if yo
  7. phill hellmuth saying he plays tight and doing so are two very different things. hanson may be very aggressive in the relatively small stars game but barry apparently feels he is loose or active as he calls it but not especially aggressive like say ivey who he does consider agg. also i think the side games color barrys ratings much more than tournaments as he thinks thats where the real players are and none of us (unless chau giang is reading) have any idea how he plays in the biggest side games.matty
  8. i just finished the banker, proffesor and suicide king and was amazed at how little money most of the top pros had if the author is to be believed. i think most peoples estimates are high. im sure daniels doin very well but he dosent play that much cash games and its hard to win more than 10 million in tournaments so while i have no idea i still would guess most estimates are on the high side.matty
  9. with more than one caller you should almost certainly reraise with the aces and if its not too absurd an overbet go ahead and move in. when you move in and get called in two spots with aces then youve done well regardless of wether you win or lose. just try to make good decisions (and getting all in preflop even if 9 people call you and your an underdog to win is a good decision) and try to let the winning take care of itself. you cant control wether you win or lose so make sure you control your decisions and make the best ones you canmatty
  10. party is reputable and im sure it could have been all worked out. imagine what thety would be risking if they started confiscating accounts. if you stop playing at party you will be making a big mistake as they are undeniably the softest games on the net. if you prefer other sites thats fine but its not because the actual games are as good as partys
  11. good raise with 88. dont play beyond your bankroll. hes obv a new player so everyone should give him a little slack. nicely pointing out that this is a very run of the mill beat is ok but did anyone really accomplish anything from all this ranting. i shouldnt have continued when i saw the jist of it but me reading 2 pages of this stuff just shows that i may be stupidier than anyone else whou posted or played in the hand.matty
  12. fold equity- doing something to increase your chances of a succusful bluff later in the handthe classic example is limping with a small to medium pair and then reraising a late position raiser heads up to represent a big hand.this will give you a better chance of a succesful bluff later in the hand as your representing AA or at the worst AKsnot something to do often at allvalue betting- betting when you plan on being called simply to win more money on the handusually not an extremely strong hand but a medium strength hand that you want to get paid off onAJ is a hand that can be called, raised
  13. its a draw game. unlike triple draw you only get the traditional one draw. straights and flushes count against you and an ace is high. so the best hand or wheel is 75432. an ace is the worst card but an unpaired hand with an ace beats a paired hznc. because of the straights and flushes counting against you it is considerably more complex than a-5 lowball.single draw is usually played no limit. triple draw 2-7 is played limit (although it can be played no limit)GREAT GAMEand a shame that it is not played more at lower limitsmatty
