Because you're doing a great job!!With each of Daniel's blog entries we get a better idea of what kind of person he really is. His poker success has pumped up his ego so much that he now believes it's worth our time to read his half-baked political views and bizarre 'reviews' of the USA's current political leadership, on top of holier-than-thou religious rhetoric.Yes, I know, the solution is simply not to read the blog and shut the hell up, but there is a larger issue here, and that is this cult of personality surrounding the so-called "Poker Stars". This is like a revelation .. my eyes opened and I'm wondering why I have given so much respect to these guys.Ok, Daniel's a great poker player. Whatever! If you are in a tournament with him he has a good chance of taking your buy-in home. YAY FOR YOU! ....???For a lot of wealthy people, who may have done questionable things in their past, religion can serve as a cleanser. If your life is all about self-interested greed, which is what poker is, despite all the flowery crap people try to drape on it, then religion can elevate a person in the eyes of others, but more importantly in their own minds. Oh, I'm a Christian so I'm a good person, right? Uh, NOT NECESSARILY! And backing another poker player doesn't count as charity. ;)As far as the politics go ..Bill Maher is a libertarian. The reason his views "sound" liberal is because he is an educated, worldly person, who isn't a wannabe-follower, which is what most Bush cheerleaders are. It's amazing how right-wing zombies love to toss around the word "liberal" as if it were a four letter word. It's a joke. Educate yourselves about your own history, and stop drinking the koolaid. Look a little deeper into the "issues", put them in some historical context, and then you won't come away drawing ridiculous, and useless conclusions like "**** Cheney is brilliant".There's a reason why **** Cheney's approval rating is the lowest for any vice-president IN HISTORY!!! LOL! It's not just "liberals" not cutting him enough slack.I guess what I'm trying to say is --- stick to the poker please. But hey, I'm sure there are a lot of bible-thumping Bush-cheerleaders who love that you're trying to bring their agenda to us wretched, sinning, gamblers.Repent! Your post was so bizarre I'm not sure where to start. Did you read the blog? The one where I said I wasn't a fan of Bush? The one that said I lean towards liberal views? After reading your post, I'm not sure you really did read my views. I said Cheney was brilliant, but nowhere did I say that I trusted him or even liked his political views. Only that he is a smart guy and knows how to debate. That's just, well, true. When you write a blog, you have two choices: be "squeaky clean" and say nothing that rocks the boat, or share your true feelings about touchy subjects. One of my favorite quotes was by Elbert Hubbert, and I think it goes something like, "To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, and be nothing." It's my blog and I'll write whatever I please... I should quote Howard Stern here but I won't. It's amazing how many people who HATE the blog, are actually reading it on a regular basis!

Yeah, i just find it hilarious that people hate on Daniel and his blog(key word there being HIS) for offering his opinions and get pissed off that his opinions disagree with theirs. Why don't more people react the way like this for instance: I like Daniel, he's my favorite poker player that I like to watch. I like his personality and I think it's cool that we share the same faith. BUT, I'm a conservative Republican and didn't like everything he said about Bush and I HATE Bill Maher. However, because we disagree on those topics doesn't make me like or respect him any less.

Alot of us really love your blog, so don't listen to the moron rail birds that know nothing and will be nothing. I do not agree with all of your veiws, but I think you bring up good points and put alot of good logic behind your statements. By the way, amazing how classy you are when you lose...I don't know how you do it. I got taken for $500 on the river today, almost tossed my comp threw the wall.

Railbird?Know nothing .. be nothing? :club: In psychology they call that transference I believe, when you transpose that which you do not like about yourself onto others. YOU ARE THE RAILBIRD/SUCKUP, not me!! You are a very good example of the 'cultist' mentality that I described in my post.As far as Daniel losing with class - I guess you haven't watched the last episode of High Stakes Poker yet. :D Ask Deeb how classy it was to have his integrity called into question by Steamy and the Gang.Daniel ..Yes, it's your blog and you should write whatever you damn well please. Absolutely! I should avoid it at all cost from this point forward, absolutely. The problem I had is that I 'was' reading your blog on the CardPlayer website, and when I read something on CardPlayer I don't want to be reading about **** F'ING CHENEY!I am sure I am not alone. If you want to drag politics and religion to the poker table you should expect some blowback .... and I'm sure you do.

OP...can you honestly give a clear and specific incidence where you have seen DN actually talk politics and religion at the POKER TABLE?!?!?!? As far as I can recall (and I could very possibly be wrong here) the only time we see DN discussing politics and/or religion is in the religion forum, in response to criticizm/discussion, or in his blog. The last being a personal journal in fact displayed for all to see. This journal is written no differently that any other journal any of us might have. The topics that the author chooses to discuss in his/her journal are of his/her own accord. I may choose to write in my journal, for example, something like "I feel like an enormous doucheclown today." However I'm not going to choose to post that on the internet for everyone to flame. DN chooses to post his journal and some choose to flame it. Now I don't think that DN is the greatest poker player who ever lived and I certainly don't agree with a lot of what he says as far as religion is concerned. But at least absorbing another's opinions may just open your own eyes to some ideas you may not have come up with on your own. Should you convert to Negreanuism? Probably not. Doesn't sound like your bag. You should heed your own advice though and opt for not reading DN's blog either here or whilst trying to read about poker on CardPlayer.com. Please don't consider this a totally personal attack. I'm just painting a picture with a broad brush that encompasses a number of people posting in these forums. Yours just happened to be the one that I read today while trolling. :)Peace,Jay

Dude, I'm a Bible-thumping Bush supporting right wing follower of Rush Limbaugh and I take offence at your childish name calling while you try to pretend Bill Mahar is smart..let alone funny. Libertarians are the parasites of the world, If they ever start a country, there will be no roads, education system or welfare for people who need it. They are generally as naive as Annie Rand followers.DN doesn't share half my opinions about politics, so what, he's a good poker player for a Canadian and I respect him enough to disagree without demanding he only think like I do. When you graduate high school you will find that many of your friends will think differently than you, vote differently than you, and they can still be friends. You on the other hand need to reassess what you thought you were trying to say...that DN should only talk poker because poker is morally wrong and therefore he excludes himself from having an opinion about Bush ( even a wrong one )? Or that only Liberals such as yourself are smart enough to know how we all should run our lives and the fact that we don't buy the garbage you're selling proves that we need you to tell us why we are idiots? And Cheney isn't the brilliant one...Bush is. History will prove him out.Remember.. 2 Supreme Court justices and probaly one more....move to France.

Actually, there's something that you should post somewhere in your blog or at least link to.Blogger's DisclaimerTo most people, this is automatically assumed, but in case trollers need a refresher, I use this.I used to have a politically-driven blog to go with my personal one (I integrated both of them now). Apparently, the entire world seemed to disagree with everything I said and I attracted trollers like moths to a flame for a while until I decided to shut down that blog and occasionally post religious/political schpiels along with other ramblings. After a bit, I found out that wasn't the case and that I just heard from flamers more than people who agreed with me.As for the hatred part, I don't know what drives some people to flame a blog. I guess people just get some satisfaction out of hating something or somebody. Never understood it. If people took the energy they use to hate others and use it to do something constructive, I think the world would be a better place. </end hippie mode>

2 Supreme Court Justices, and probably one more. Florida recount, Misson Accomplished, South Dakota abortion laws, Wire taps, Cheney shot a lawyer and didn't even have a lawyer tag, Jeb Bush in 2008.

CONSERVATIVES!? MY A**! :club:http://www.forbes.com/entrepreneurs/feeds/.../ap2600301.htmlI would call it Orwellian if any of you had a clue what that actually meant. :D And I completely understand why no one here thinks I have a point - I didn't expect any of you to the have the ability to detect it. Afterall, you do live in the most indoctrinated and propagandized society in the world today, with the exception of North Korea perhaps. You go ahead and gobble up Daniel's, perhaps unintentional, propaganda (for the Moonies or whatever he is in to). You go ahead and continue to stumble into tournaments and kow-tow to every poker player that has ever had their ugly mugs on the boob tube, then high-five them as they head off into the night with your $ .. to go spend it on god knows what - coke and whores perhaps, depending on who it is.HEY.. THAT'S POKER, RIGHT!?.....??....???....????REPENT! AND GIVE DANIEL YOUR MONEY!

You can try to act like you are a philosopher, but you are not. You are a little person trying to make yourself feel big by insulting others, from DN to others that like him. "cultist" I am sorry, but you are delusional and very laughable. DO you always call people names you disagree with? Did your parent teach you not to call names? Nah, you find power in belittling other, and that makes you very sad. Daniel is a big man by his actions, and he shows it by where he is in life. You may not agree with him, but he has made it big by making good decisions. You on the other hand are not big what-so-ever, but very small in actions and words.

In general, what makes the famous movie + sports stars famous ? Well, in general its the fact that they ARE move and sports stars. But when being talked about, most people dont want to know what Angelina Jolie thinks of her up coming movie, they want to know about her relationship with Brad Pitt. Do people want to know what David Beckham thinks of the up coming game against Villareal ? or the rumour that his marriage is in trouble ? People like to know more about famous than what made them famous in the first place, and imo, thats why i think DN is such a popular player, because he willingly opens up his interesting life. If every blog contained only stuff like ''and the flop was 10 :club: 4 :D J :D '' ''Double belly-buster straight draw'' and ''The guy UTG came OTT of the guy who raised in middle position with this rolled up aces, queens showing'' then altho I (and Im sure many other people) would still read it, I probably wouldnt read after coming in at 2am and sitting at the computer just to check my emails and see what the score in the England-Ireland match was.

I'm gonna go ahead and make a blanket statement, which I enjoy doing for the sake of reactions...Anybody who takes time out of their day to create an account here specifically to bash Negreanu's blog is an idiot.that is all

Bill Maher is a libertarian. The reason his views "sound" liberal is because he is an educated, worldly person, who isn't a wannabe-follower, which is what most Bush cheerleaders are.But hey, I'm sure there are a lot of bible-thumping Bush-cheerleaders who love that you're trying to bring their agenda to us wretched, sinning, gamblers.
This was so dumb I just couldn't let it go. Bush isn't the only one with "cheerleaders" as you call them, in fact, with the media pumping liberal views into everyone's faces, you now have 15 year old girls on mtv talking about how Bush is the devil.YSALKY.
