I'm not a tourney player so I'm not an expert on tournament structures like some of you but these structures for the lower buyin tournaments look like they have a decent amount of play. What do the tourney players think ?You can link to the structures for the WSOP tourneys from this page. http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/tourney/...asp?groupid=607Here's the structure to event 4 which is a $1K NL tourney.Players begin with $3,000 in Tournament Chips. All levels will last 60 minutes. Breaks will be every two levels and last 20 minutes. Dinner break will be at the end of level 6 and last 90 minutes. Play will continue on Day 1A and 1B until the completion of level 10. The field will be combined and play will resume at 2 PM on June 1, 2009. Play will continue on June 1 down to the final table. Day 4: Final Table at 2 PM. 7% of the total entry pool will be withheld for entry fees, and 3% of the total entry pool will be withheld for tournament staff. sick structure for all wsop tournies.daniels post a month ago, about making the bigger buyins have better structures than the lesser buyins, did not come to fruition. (yeah there a little better, but dn actually mentioned throwing out some levels in the cheapies to make them go faster and accomodate for the larger fields)thank you very much jeffery pollock, or whoever made this happen

they do keep getting better, but the main issue is dodging the dealer that can't shuffle for shit, or the table that hollywoods every preflop fold, more than the structure itself. imo.

isn't 10% juice kinda high? are you supposed to tip even with the 3%?
It's actually low compared to other Harrahs tourneys. sick, but poker players are sick people. Tip your dealers if you win.

I looked at all the nl tournament structures for the $1,000nl to $5knl events, the $10k Main Event and the $40knl and they all looked better than last year and very good overall. :club:

first, these structures are fantastic. the limit events especially look like they'll move at a fair pace throughout at least the first two days.the problem is going to be only playing 8 levels on day 1 and then playing down to a final on day 2. it's just not going to happen for most of these events. Last year we played for something like 13.5 hours on day two in my stud 8 event trying to get down to a final table, and they finally called it a day with 14 left. If you added 1/3 more chips to the equation and have a structure essentially identical to last year, the problem is going to be way worse.

Look on the bright side, with the economy being so bad there might be a lot less entrants so the tourneys will finish faster.

it's a hard sell to call less dead money a bright side.
