Ap Badbeat Jackpot

Recommended Posts

so I but in short at a $100 no limit bad beat jackpot table. I know its bad odds but the jackpot just broke $500k so I figured, sit back, play tight and see what happens. There's a couple of aggressive folks at the table, so I don't get much play. I pick up a few dollars with pockets Q's but lose that to blinds and poke and hope hands. Finally I get the bb and figure I'll at least see a flop. Button pops it to $2, sb calls and my 59os hits the muck. Flop comes AhJhAc. Check, CheckTurn is 10h. Button raises, sb reraises, Button goes all, sb calls.Button shows AsKs. Sb shows KhQhBefore we can even figure out what happened River is dealt,Ad hits the board and evertyhing stops...After the worlds longest wait, the table explodes!! Fireworks all over the place, chips cover the whole table. A popup windows comes on my computer to tell me that the Bad Beat Jackpot was hit.Final figures.Button gets 166kSb gets 84kand the rest of us (including me!!) get 16k each.So the obvious question comes - how do I get a a hold of it?With a check withdrawl won't there be paperwork to get something like that and how much of a nut does the government take on something like that?PS AP got 51k for Admin Fees!

Wheeeeeee..... nice score. To get your money, just contact customer service, and see if they can do a direct transfer to your account. Sometimes they allow things like this for large transfers. And no, there shouldn't be any paperwork if you get a paper check, but it's too big of an amount to ignore on your taxes, so you probably should file estimated taxes on it.

cause they would go broke
As if Pokerstars and Full Tilt couldn't compete financially with Absolute. All they'd have to do is increase the rake at the bad beat jackpot tables, which is what Absolute did.

So if I took out the 16k, how much should one set aside for taxes? The normal 25% or a higher amount like 38%? Anyone have an idea or can point me to a site. Thinking about get taxes done professionally this year to see if that might have some impact.

If it helps, I don't think aces full of deuces would qualify for the bad beat jackpot at most casinos. It wouldn't at any of the ones I've played at.

Um.....dont you have to use both cards in your hand for the bad beat Jackpot basically everywhere? From Absolute websiteQualifying Terms & Conditions * Not all tables qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot. Look for our real money Texas Hold’em tables to play for the jackpot. Bad Beat Jackpot tables will be noted with the word “jackpot” written in brackets after the table name and will be categorized in red text in the lobby. * In order to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot, four or more players must be dealt in the hand and rake must be collected. * The losing hand must contain four eights (8888) or better. * Players sitting out at the Bad Beat Jackpot table are not eligible for the jackpot. * Both hole cards must be included in the winning and losing hand. * The hand must go to a showdown in order to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot. * If there are two or more hands that qualify for the jackpot within one hand, then the two highest hands will be considered for the jackpot, with the highest hand being the winning hand (the winner) and the second highest hand winning the bad beat (the loser of the hand) * Should two qualifying jackpot hands hit at precisely the same time, the jackpot will be awarded to the hand that began first according to AP time. * Absolute Poker forbids collusion. All players must act independently and not reveal their hands to other players, nor tell them how to act. Failure to abide by these rules will result in automatic disqualification from the Bad Beat Jackpot. Further action will also be takenI call shenanigans
