Hit Table Share Of $100k Jackpot @ The Bike

Recommended Posts

It was awesome, but also almost wasnt to be. Here was the situation. We are playing $300-$500 buyin $5-$5 blinds (I hate that structure, btw!)Button is seat 5. I am Big Blind.Seat 8, Seat 9 foldSeat 1 raises to $20. Seat 2 calls, Seat 3 calls. Button calls. Blinds FoldFlop:6h 7h 8hSeat 1 bets $30Seat 2 callsSeat 3 raises to $100Button goes all in for $250Seat 1 waits a long time and finally goes all in for $300Seat 2 calls!!!Seat 3 goes all in for his last $325Seat 2 CALLS!At this point we all kind of jump up hoping someone has 9h Th and 4h 5h. But.. That wouldnt have made a very suspenseful story now would it!At this point no one turns their hand over and the dealer puts the turn card out there - 7c.Seat one jumps up and says "QUADS!" showing his two sevens. At that point seat 2 says very calmly, "we have a jackpot" and shows his 9h Th. I immediately say, everyone else turn your cards over - all hands have to be shown at showdown. They do. Seat 3 has 88 - and says, "I can still get the jackpot if an 8 hits the river!" The button (who almost screwed this whole thing up) shows 45 off! His raise to $250 almost got the sevens to fold (and dont be so quick to say he wouldn't - look at the action, he knew he was beat but didnt realize it was a straight flush - he thought someone had 88 or flush)! The 8 didnt hit the river and at that point we realized that we were playing during one of the promotion times which has the jackpot at $100k! My table share was $3572. The 77 hand got $50k and the winning hand got $25k. It was awesome.

I remember when I hit my first jackpot at Commerce.UTG makes it $25 (this is $200 MAX NL, btw).I have 44 OTB and call.Flop is 474. UTG immediately shoves all in for $480.I call, obviously. He turns over A7s. Turn 7. River 7.I was about to jump the table and beat the living pulp out of him until I realized we hit the jackpot, at which point I told him I loved him, as I got the lion's share of it for being the bad-beated. ;)Nice feeling, isn't it? Congratulations.- Crash

i was at the bike last night. what time did this go down?
I don't think he said it happened last night...or maybe he did and I just didn't read well and I'm going to get pwned now...But I don't think he specified "when" exactly.

About 5:30.. I was lucky because i was next to move as this was a must move.. I got moved about 10 minutes after..Then moved to the $500 5-10 game. I was playing real loose aggressive as I knew it wa a fully profitable night. That worked out very well as I took down a score of $7500 at that table. There was a guy there who just had the worst luck. He would hit big hands and they would just be second best. It was so sad. I took at least $4k from him alone.

And imagine if you had to go to the bathroom and missed that hand
Just a good rule of thumb, if you're going to the bathroom, is to wait to be dealt a hand and as soon as you muck (preferably from EP) tell the dealer to deal you in next hand. You will have the time for the current hand to finish + the next hand (which you are dealt in, so eligible for the jackpot) to get back. Plenty of time.Noobs. :club:

I think he meant to say..."Imagine if you had to go to the bathroom and you could not hold it ANY longer. You trot over to the bathroom area and notice the line is longer than a midnight showing of a Star Wars sneak preview at the theater. Finally, you muster your way up to the front and realize that you now have to drop a deuce. When you get to the stalls, one of them is being occupied and heavily stankified by someone who will be there for quite some time. He's "camping" out in there. The other stall has no door and there is piss on the floor, on the seat, and even on the toilet paper. You analyze your situation and do what anyone else would do. You go little kid style, pull your pants down to your ankles, and waddle over to the urinal, backwards. Squat down, drop the deuce in the urinal, flush so you can have some of the water splash up and clean yourself and run back to your game, only to have missed a jackpot...Life sucks.

sounds like a good night. i wasn't there until around 9. the bike is stocked with bad players at pretty much every limit except the highest ones, IMO. i mean it's a joke how bad they are.i got cooled on a few big hands last night and ended up loser to a small extent. all in all i can't complain about my long term results there.

There are bad players EVERYWHERE. Its not just in at the bike. I've been playing at Hustler for about 2 years now and decided I wanted to play 5-10NL more so I had to either go to Hollywood Park or The Bike. The problem with HPC is that its the exact same people every day at that limit. Most of them are friends and immediately say, "CHECK IT DOWN" when it comes heads up and its just not a profitable place to play (considering when you win you often get robbed on your way to the car). The only problem is that the bike is much further from my house (Palos Verdes) than Hustler and HPC. I can get to Hustler in about 15 minutes. The Bike takes about 25-30.

i live in hollywood so they're all pretty far from me. i guess i go to the bike because it's the first place i ever played in LA and i'm just used to it.we should organize an LA area FCP night at a cardroom here.

That would rock.Commerce has that whole "bring your home game to the commerce" promotion, so I bet they'd set up a private table for us. I'm in.

Ill be in your neck of the woods tonight. I got invited to the premier of Nightmare Before Christmas 3D at the El Capitan. Im stoked. Its one of my favorite movies of all time - plus I grew up a huge boingo fan.Try to get something together and I'll be there. I think the commerce advertises that you can have your own home game there. I dont know how that works though..

I'm pretty sure it's just like a normal table game i.e. rake/drop, the only difference is it's a private game not open to other players unless you allow for open seats to be filled as the game goes on.
