MadKennedy420 0
is it not strange that as soon as a half naked tramp graced the cover of and over rated, staple magaine in card playing circles that poker may become what it once was. Every time i go to a public card room i.e. a casino, i find people who would never have the guts to do what the old guys did for the game. These dudes are speading their internet made bank rolls over the never before ventured felt and act they belong. I try to tell them to quit trying to get rich and play the GAME to enjoy it. the game is not some right that every dirt bag has been given at birth it is earned. The government is going most people a favor and disallowing this gamit to continue...

WallstreetMSU 0
To the OP, you're an idiot if you hate dead money. Just so you know, Doyle, Chan, Helmuth, Cloutier, they didnt start playing the game just to play it with pride. They did it for money. That is the only reason they started playing. A way to make a living. Thats all the game is about, getting the money. Doyle didnt play in illegal card games with a gun strapped to his side just for the "glory." We should all be thankful that poker has boomed like this. And I gaurantee every professional would say the same thing.

kmak 0
The game is neither "given at birth" nor is it "earned" - it is bought. Last I checked, all anyone has to do is take a seat and lay out some dead presidents and they get chips and cards. What happens after that is up to them (and the others at the table). MadKennedy420 0
im not a pro but who really is anymore, not to shoot down your statement but most players i know have some kind of other income to balance them selves out in the long run. deals are made with ease when real card players are involved. all valid points, if you play to enjoy the GAME then the internet has only negativly effected you, i promise. if you dont see that then you should be happy you have a government like ours that has noticed. You will not get rich solely on internet poker anymore, even if that was a possiblity in the first. Card playing will continue...

Muck, You Suckers! 0
I think some of you idiots are seeing this as something that will lower the competition. It's going to affect us all here in the U.S., it is in no way a good thing. And poker has always been played for the money. It's not the companionship and idle time that drives people to sit at tables and in front of computers for hours on end. And, Doyle Brunson never strapped a gun to his side. The 60s and 70s weren't exactly the days of John Wesley Hardin and Doc Holiday here in Texas. He carried a little pocket pistol in the pocket of his slacks. He didn't wear cowboy hats back then, and looked more the car salesman type. He didn't get all cowboyed up until way into his vegas years. And that's just for show.

Now all of the great online players are going to the Casinos that YOU play at, and are going to rip you apart and take every penny from you...Is that what you wanted? The glory of the game, with no money? LMAO, please...You play to win, like everyone else. It just seems that since you can't win, you play for "fun" and for the "game" but if you actually did win, maybe you'd take it serious.

Soooo... their votes don't count!?! Don't get me started on why this country's "going down the shitter."To compare:We have a border with Mexico that's about as wide-open as it will ever be, if we try to shut it down and deport all the "resource draining" illegal's back to where they came from the Democrats get their panties all in a bunch. So try to see it for what it is... both parties f*cking this country good and hard. Like they always have, and always will.
