Hey bigd, now that it's officially fall I wore my Daltons today and had a dentist appointment. 3 hygienists came into the room at some point and they all said how much they loved them. I have a $15k/week limit on Coinbase for instance, and I've submitted a good bit of documentation...I put in an order to buy BTC from them on Monday, but I won't get it until Saturday. As time was of the essence in their case and they needed it over a weekend, they opted to pay a premium. My understanding is that some ransomwares don't have any intention or ability to give you your data back. Paying them off seems kinda silly unless you legitimately were totally unprepared and have no backups. In which case, I guess it's your best bet. That was my concern when hearing the story, but they apparently got their data back. They had screwed up on back-ups.
