  1. This is what I thought too when I saw his reply... It seems like the poster is completely misreading the board, or doesnt understand that only the best 5 play... I cant quite figure it out either. Hence the ensuing discussion makes no sense at all.
  2. Im confused here... If the guy doesnt have a K or a J then the only hand that wins the whole pot is AA. That's the only "bigger pair" hand that beats you.It makes no sense for someone playing either J AK, KK or AA to bet at the flop then check the turn AND the river. The Bet , Check, Check is enough to tell you that you probably have the best hand... playing the board and splitting the pot with the other person. The reason betting 1000 is a bad move IMO is that if he's going to call, he's going to push all in and then that extra 700 commits you to call too. With larger stacks you wont push all
  3. you can get the casino cards at www.kem.com Theyre rather expensive though. I ordered a box just this week and just got them. Theyre the same ones as the casino (at least the ones at the bellagio...) . Just make sure you're getting the casino cards and not the ones they sell for home. I think those might be different.
  4. got bounced put it all in with AJ with blinds creeping up. other guy hit a 10... Didnt play well after the first few levels. Was a little too aggressive trying to build up. Will have to rethink my strategy next time. Havent MTT'ed in a long time.I can only blame myself for getting in that position. Too many big stacks at the table to pick up pots. Hate having passive tables break up:)
  5. What reason do I have to lie? I took about 6-7 pots worth about 150-200 each. Lots of limpers that dont hit on the flop. I dont consider those big pots.Stole the blinds a couple of times as well...Speaking of which just did lose a rather large one when I tried to steal with Q-10, hit top pair and just bet into KK way too many times... back down to about 1600 in chips.
  6. Im at 2900 in chips on table #35. Havent played a single big pot. Limp and steal and bet non stop... Doing pretty well. Table is pretty passive and I plan on running it over if I can.
  7. Im playing this tonight. Havent MTT'd in a long time since I moved from poker room, figured Id give it a shot. Same name as on this forum..
  8. I see, thanks. I just think I've been spewing too much with pairs like 66-88 more so than anything.
  9. Is it actually profitable at all to play 2s from any position without something like 8 players in? I'm newer to Limit Holdem and so I figured Id ask on this thread. Unless you hit a set you're probably spewing chips unless you're extremely lucky and even then you have no idea where you are.I tend to have a negative earn rate with pairs lower than 9s as is...
  10. The problem here is that while at the time of the deal they were all as likely, given the information from the hand, we can probably rule out 2/3->3/4 of all possible random holdings. Unless we're playing with a maniac, he's just not raising with 37o or 4Js in this situation. This is why the calculations used in this way are relatively useless and then deciding upon an action based upon such calculations flawed.
  11. Lets look at it from the villains perspective...Let's say the possible holdings for a middle position raise are AA-88 and AK. We've just raised to 350 and have a caller on the button. What holdings could the button have to make the call? (We will assume from his perspective that the button is competent as well and wont be calling with two random cards with a Jack included) It's quite possible to have called with a holding such as JTs in that position but more obvious holdings are another pair or a hand like AK.After the flop we're betting any of our possible hands AA-88 + AK. (Especially on a
  12. Why raise a small amount post flop with good position? It's not going to push him off the hand. 15 more for him for 47 dollars already in. If he's Loose and will play any high cards he has a good chance of being paired up, having a straight draw or chopping the pot with you with that board. If he has any pair its almost an automatic call. If you have at least top pair good kicker then this raise might make sense to build up the pot, but you have a strong draw to the nut flush plus you might take the pot as well if the Ace hits. I think you have two choices post flop make a call , or make a
  13. 2-5 NL at the BellagioI get dealt 9d10d in the big blind. with the CO / Button and small blind limping in. Flop: 7d 8d JdUnbelievable. I'm already a lock to win the hand regardless of what comes. I'm imagining those displays they have on ESPN with a check mark next to my head right after the flop! At this point Im hoping someone is gonna draw Quads on me:)Small blind Checks, I check, CO bets 25, Button calls, SB Calls, and I call.Turn: QdIm ecstatic this card hits because Im sure at least one of the players was playing ace high flush draw, and the other probably a straight or a K high flus
