interesting aces hand

This was kind of a strange hand to play and I was real confused as to what he had. Table is fairly loose and mp+1 who I was in the hand with is a weak player, but has a tendency to fast play hands and play them very simply. He's not a complete idiot post flop in other words he does realize hes beat sometimes, and won't go nuts on the flop without some kinf of hand, but calls down anyways. So, gimme some thoughts on this hand, thanks.HERO has AsAc utghero raises, utg+1 cold calls, mp+1 cold calls, bb callsFLOP: Q T 6 all clubshero bets, utg+1 folds, mp+1 raises, bb folds, hero callshmmmm looks like a great flop for me really, Overpair with the nut flush draw, normally I'd 3 bet in an instant here, but I'm actually not sure if I'm ahead or behind against this opponent, because I know his tendency to fast play his hands when he hits, so I felt a hand like QT was possible, maybe even a set. I felt pulling a stop and go would give me a better indication of where I was. TURN: 6 heartshero bets, mp+1 raises, hero callsLooks like an ok card for me, because a hand like QT is now counterfeited and I was going to bet the turn anyways in case he was pulling a free card play on the flop. But he raises me? hmmmm I still can't really put him on anything that beats me, it doesn't look like that 6 helped him, but I don't really want to 3 bet here, because I don't really want to call a cap. I decide I'm going to bet the river again regardless if I hit or not. The only hands I figure I'm worried about are QQ, TT at this point.RIVER: 3 diamondshero bets, mp+1 raises, hero callsSo, I don't hit my flush or Ace, but I bet the river anyways and get raised again and now I'm still not sure if I'm ahead or not, so I just call and hope for the best. I guess I could have check-called, but I wanted to make sure he didn't get a free showdown if I had the best hand, which I was kind of 50/50 on having. He could be making the same play with KK, maybe even AQ, so I'm definitely not folding my hand at any point.

I think I three-bet this flop. I understand your stop-n-go tactic though.Aside from that I like it. Honestly it's 50/50 whether I bet/call or check/call this river. Really depends on reads. This guy is playing fairly agg, so maybe I let him make my bet for me on the river with A-Q, K-Q, or Q-10... or even a bluff with J-K.

i hate people like you that donk bet every street.just 3-bet the flop.
It's effective against players that overplay thier hands. I tend to get paid off a lot when I do this against certain players that are overaggressive and overvalue their overpairs.Anyways, say you do 3 bet, do you call down the rest of the way if capped? What if your 3 bet is just called and you lead the turn but get raised again, do you still call down?

Thinking back for this hand, it'd have been better if I'd 3 bet the flop. The only reason why I didn't was because I felt I was actually behind when he raised. This guy would usually be passive and just call down unless he was strong, so his raise made me think he had my hand beat on the flop. I still should have put in the 3 bet though to confirm my read furthermore. The donk betting works when you flop something like a set against someone who gets trigger happy with overpairs.

jay, was your opponent not in the habit of 3-betting kings pre-flop?Also, is it impossible to put him on the made the flush?

I didn't really put him on a made flush. Flopping a flush is really odd, but after him playing the hand the way he did, it was one of the possibilities of his holdings.I felt he would have 3 bet Kings and probably Queens as well. That's why it was kind of hard to put him on a hand that had me beat unless he really actually hit the flop well with a set or was fortunate enough to flop a flush.

You said you were worried about giving him a free card on the turn? He's drawing to a worse hand than you if he's drawing! If you just called the flop, check the turn. If he checks behind you and a club comes on the river you can hammer him.A made flush shouldn't be out of the question so you could've maybe 3-bet the flop to get a better read.If he caps the flops, check/call the turn and and check/fold the river if your flush doesn't come.If he calls the 3-bet on the flop, lead out.

I wasn't worried about a free card, I just didn't want him checking behind me and not getting value. If he was pulling the raise with the King of clubs and he checks behind and a blank comes on the river, I'll have made no extra bets out of him since he'll have to fold. I've got an overpair with the nut flush draw, most of the time I'm way ahead here. I should have probably 3 bet the flop and usually do, but chose not to this time, since I kind of sensed I might be behind on the flop.At no point am I going to fold this hand, I don't think laying this hand down is good at all.
