Keith Tilston Leads Final Six in Event #83: $100,000 High Roller

Keith Tilston was staring down the barrel of a short stack heading into the final day of Event #83: $100,000 High Roller after getting in kings against the aces of Sergi Reixach in the last hand of Day 2.

However, a king on the turn - followed by another on the river - saw him come from behind and eliminate his opponent to bag the chip lead with six left in the biggest buy-in event of the summer.

Tilston is coming off the back of a sixth-place finish in the Final Fifty for $275,874 but has already guaranteed himself $457,772 for a sixth-place finish in this event! However, with an eye-watering $2,792,406 awaiting the winner he may be in line for a whole lot more!

Play resumes on July 13th at 12 p.m. with 15 minutes left at 125,000/250,000/250,000 and will be live-streamed on PokerGO

at least 3rd

Hand #76: Daniel Negreanu opened to 1,200,000 on the button and Igor Kurganov ripped all in for 9,500,000 in the small blind. Keith Tilston also pushed all in from the big blind and Negreanu let out a big yell. "Wow! I was snapping him. I still might call," but he opted to let his {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} go to the muck.

Keith Tilston: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Igor Kurganov: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The flop came {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Tilston was still in a commanding lead with his pair of kings. The {3-Clubs} on the turn left Kurganov drawing to just two outs. The river was the {4-Spades} and Kurganov was ousted in fourth place.

Hand #94: Nick Schulman opened to 1,600,000 on the button and Negreanu three-bet shoved all in for 13,000,000 in the small blind. Schulman made the call to put Negreanu at risk.

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Nick Schulman: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to give Negreanu a pair of nines and the lead. Schulman had some backdoor draws but the {2-Diamonds} on the turn provided none of them. The {a-Spades} completed the board and Negreanu found another double up, leaving Schulman with just over 2 million chips.

Hand #95: Daniel Negreanu made it 1,600,000 on the button and Keith Tilston called from the small blind. Nick Schulman was all in for 1,325,000 in the big blind which created a small side pot.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and both players checked to the {9-Spades} on the turn and the {6-Diamonds} on the river. Negreanu held {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for two pair while Schulman showed {8-}{5-}. Negreanu scooped both pots to eliminate Schulman in third place.

The final two players are taking a quick break for a color up and to prepare for the heads-up match.

gross turn card on this one although he had a lot of outs with that flop

Hand #106; Keith Tilston limped on the button and Daniel Negreanu checked his big blind. The flop was {10-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Negreanu checked and Tilston bet 1,000,000. Negreanu check-raised to 3,000,000.

Tilston called and the turn was the {k-Clubs}. Negreanu used a time extension and then checked. Tilston bet 4,500,000. Negreanu moved all in and Tilston checked his cards before calling.

Keith Tilston: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The river was the {8-Hearts} and Tilston doubled up.

Hand #119: Daniel Negreanu moved all in for 12,600,000 and Keith Tilston called.

Daniel Negreanu: ah.gif2d.gif

Keith Tilston: qc.gifjd.gif

"Just an ace," said Negreanu. "We need an ace to beat a queen," he told his rail.

The flop came 6h.gif8c.gif7h.gif. The assembled crowd were on their feet, craning their necks to see the 7s.gif on the turn. Negreanu needed to avoid six outs that would see his quest for a seventh bracelet thwarted, and there was an audible groan from the crowd as the js.gif hit on the river, pairing Tilston and Negreanu was eliminated.

"Tied the record for most second-places ever," said Negreanu. "Along with Phil Hellmuth."

One of the best hands I've seen this year was at about the 36 minute mark on Poker Go's 2019 wsop 100,000 high roller tournament. This can be seen on the event replay. Igor Kurganov raised in late position with J 8 clubs. Daniel called in the small blind with Ace Jack. The flop was

9 8 3 with 2 diamonds.

both players checked. The turn is

9s 8d 3d 5h.

Daniel bets out 850k. After thinking Igor calls. The river is

9s 8d 3d 5h Qh

Daniel bets out 2,1 million on a bluff with just Ace high.

Igor then goes into the tank with only a pair of 8's. He is forced to use his time buttons. He actually uses 3 of them on this hand which had to be tough to be in Daniels shoes with an almost 6 million dollar pot on the line. Igor finally calls with his measely pair of 8's and wins an almost 8 million dollar pot.

Great call that probably few players would of made. That gave Igor about 16 million in chips to take the lead. But Daniel got retribution as he finished 2nd to Igor's 4th place.
