  1. because you can only use 2 of your hole cards to make a hand
  2. you HAVE to bet, you HAVE to raise, you REALLY WANT to get the stacks in. that's the only thing that must be in your head when you flop a hand like this one. don't get fancyand try to get paid only when you hit, you need to make the pot larger right on the flop, if you hit and your opponent fold, you win a bigger pot, if you hit and your opponent don't beleive you, you'll win a much larger pot:D
  3. both works...but not for everyoneyou have to find your own way to play the game. if you don't feel comfortable by playing loose; play tight. but you need to be comfortable (if you're not, you'll have to be) with agressivity.there are many ways to play a winning poker, just pick one!
  4. jan : pretty good month, don't know woh to post graph but 14k hands and 6.92 PTBB/100goal for february : stay focussed, don't move to 5NL until i have played 100k hands at 2NL (now a 50, it may not be this month but i'll try). the reason behind that : i took a shot a 5NL at the end of december (about 30k hands, made some bad moves and ran bad...still had a 1PTBB/100 but clearly not enough so i decided to gain more experience).I don't have the bankroll to move, i have about 41.5 BI for the next level but i'm playing on 20+ tables so i have half of my BR on play...the primary goal for this month
  5. agreeand if you call the turn why do you hesitate to call this river, it does not complete anything...
  6. Your hand is hidden a lot. i'd call the turn raise and check call the river. Then, I'd take notes. It's only my opinion, but to help define your opponent's hand, maybe you can think about 3 betting him preflop to tighten his range, if you get 4 bet or shoved on, you can safely fold your hand and saving you tough decisions after the flop.
  7. I've been sitting on the table for about 15-20 minutes, vilain did some strange things. I went to poker table ratings to have a look on his stats, he's a 35BB/100 loosing player and very loose. I've played 1 hand with him before and he shows me a 9-3 off to defend his BB when i raised from the cutoff (i've been playing preety tight vpip of 20-15(and i don't display the hud when i play). Vilain is also a non-beleiver. that's about all for my read on him...after watching the hand, i think i played the ahnd well before and on the flop, i'm not sure about the check on the turn but when he checks b
  8. because of the table dynamic, i completly agree to that shove
  9. you said everything and i think he's on JJ or QQ (aces or kings is less likely(but not impossible) since hero have one of each)
  10. on the flop, re-raise to something like 0.80 to 1, you want to get it in or to commit yourself to the pot.with such a strong draw, you should play it faster, it might scare your opponent and he might check back on the river if he have an ace-ragbut as played, I would agree to a call on the river. even if his bet size looks very "please call me" it can be a block bet too, it depends on vilain tendencies...but i think i'd call...lol
  11. sickpoker is a beautiful game!! no?
  12. Agreeand good books for cash games : Super System, I Know there's only a chapter on NLH but it worth the price of the book.I'm reading the Theory of poker by david sklansky now and this book is sick...even if 80% of the hands examples are in seven card stud the book worth his priceI Know you don't want to ear about "daniel bla bla bla" but his book Power hold'em strategy is about half and half for cash games and tourneys, Todd Brunson, Erick Lindgren(2/3 of the chapter for cash games) and Paul Wasicka (shorthanded cash) have good chapters for cash games!
