Stars $2.20 Turbo Mtt. How Best To Open?

Recommended Posts

There was 7200 people in this tourney, and we were down to ~620 left, so we were ITM.UTG open flatting a ton 41/0 over 27 hands. Everyone else behind me was either loose or super tight. I am only at ~12 BB, so my thinking was just shove and take it down here. Is this the best play?? The only other thing I thought afterwards was I could have just raised, but i would have to call off to a shove anyway. I can't see AJ suited being too weak in early position and folding either.IDK. I know this may seem stupid, but when you go through a $700 + downswing over about 300 games in 2 months playing sub $10 tourneys and SNGs, it really gets into your head. Since I have started playing seriously about 11 months ago, I have gone from terrible-->profiting-->break even-->terrible again. Standard, esp with the dead money in there from a limp tard. Cant open raise, what if u get called and brick the flop?

That is what I was thinking. Any PF move I make is going to commit me. I was playing tight because I was card dead through most of the tourney. Only way I survived was doubling-up in hands similar to this at about 8bb-10bb. Whenever I did just open-shove from any position after one of the loose guys would open call, they would always fold, and I could pickup the blinds/antes. I was kinda hoping one of the loose guys would call me with a weak A, because there was some of that going on.

This is def a possibility.I know (as i'm sure many others do) what its like to downswing and doubt yourself in standard spots, just keep plugging away sir.
