Theraflu 1,035
The last tourney I went deep in was a $5...we sat from 10 until 8 people for like 45 minutes. It was excruciating. Hopefully this moves faster.

InternetExplorer 2,609
did a bourbon tasting at work with some stuff from my collection today. after everyone had submitted their rankings, I told them they had correctly guessed the bottle to which I had added urine. there was a slight pause before the laugh.
Theraflu 1,035
Just hit final table. Flopped 2-pair against a slow-played queens, put me up to a million. 2nd has 620k.
Theraflu 1,035
My run of cards at the final table, and especially <6 handed, was literally perfect. So I won $3300. But it would have been hard for an ape with the ability to click "raise" to lose.
Napa Lite 3,278
Congrats, player. That's a heck of a score there. Please don't blow it playing above your limits. Lose it playing terrible odds blackjack.
brvheart 1,752
I know you guys are counting on me for high quality content, so I'm sorry I've been busy. My new job is kicking my butt. When things calm down, I'll be back to make your lives better. Nice score, Thera.

Napa_Don 688
That can't be right. I'm not even sure we had a May this year.
JubilantLankyLad 1,957
I never could get the hang of Mays.
SuitedAces21 2,722
i checked my brvy journal, where i catalogue everything happening in brvy's life, and there is nothing in May about a new job. there was a trip with the kids to the art museum and some stuff about his wife being horny, but no new job.
JubilantLankyLad 1,957
From that I deduce that Brvy has taken an unpaid internship as an art gallery tour guide, and is supplementing his income by moonlighting as a gigalo.

brvheart 1,752
I got that job I applied for, which is nice. Congrats though brvy. I support you, even if Ron doesn't. Your notebook sucks.
Napa Lite 3,278
Well, hey, don't remind us what it is. I think I'm going to quit my job next spring when my lease is up and move to Mpls, or maybe somewhere else. Might try to get a job before I move, might not. Hard to say, really.
InternetExplorer 2,609
what's the penalty for breaking your lease, like $900? I imagine you can just ask for that with the level you're at.
Napa Lite 3,278
I have no idea but probably around there. But also my thinking is that I'll be at a non-super obese size by them (end of January) and people like hiring not super fat people. Also, my savings will be that much bigger and I'll have a bunch of vacation days to be paid out then which will help give me a little more of a cushion in not having to jump at the first offer. And to the first point...I've been walking/running 5 miles basically every day the past 4 weeks and have started going in the morning and then doing another workout after work and also I'm eating a lot better. And it's also that much more time to work on improving/gaining other skills to make me more employable. If I move to MPLS I've got 2 friends that have offered their spare bedroom, assuming rent free or at least below market rate, while I figure stuff out and then another friend who just has a spare bedroom that I could stay at indefinitely for like $400/month.
InternetExplorer 2,609
at the tasting a few days ago, it's 10 of us casually drinking, and my coworker finds a way to blurt out, "I was severely beaten by my grandfather when I was younger" as part of a rambling story. we all just look blankly at him. he goes to continue describing the situation, and someone just bluntly cuts him off to change the subject. it was easily one of the worst social missteps I've ever seen. worse than anything I've ever done with a girl. Ron_Mexico 4,219
Napa, how much have you lost thus far? Why the urge to drastically uproot your life and move to the North Pole?
Napa Lite 3,278
Not much. Just a few pounds. I started really slow at the beginning. Just now starting to get into reasonable distances running. Clothes are fitting a little better though. And I've had this urge the last few years. Just now to a point where it might make sense and I'm getting increasingly restless with my job and life situation and running away from your problems is always a great idea. Essay21 2,385
Your notebook sucks. Oh I'm making a note of this. Napa, I wouldn't recommend quitting a job until you have a another in hand. Let's not get crazy here.
