jjgoldy5 0
Here's the scenario:You're going to be in the BB soon, and there is an aggressive player who has been raising your BB often from late position. You are close to having fold equity for a resteal, and KNOW that the player is capable of folding (note...do not try this against a call station) to a preflop reshove. You have a marginal hand for a preflop steal / shove.Basically, if you are in a tough marginal spot and the chips you will pick up from a successful steal setup a bigger potential resteal....go for it imo.Thoughts? Sheiky 0
There's a hand i was trying to post an hour ago where i reshoved on the button with 89dd for this exact reason, i definitely do this stuff a lot, one skill on being a good tournament player is realising and adjusting to your situation and looking ahead for places to create better spots for yourself. There DS demonstrates that you shouldnt make a marginal or even +EV bet that has a substantial risk of losing, if losing that bet means you cant make an even more favorable bet later. Here you are facing a declining stack if you dont make a move, so you are taking a marginal EV (but reasonable % of winning) bet in order to enable a larger (and improved EV bet because your stack is bigger) bet later. copernicus 0
Yeah that would be theoretical version of what I'm talking about Just remember youre planning to parlay a 55% winner with a 65% winner which means youre only 36% to survive. ;)Which of course may still be better than waiting for the 60% winner (before your bigger stack improved it to 65%) because you dont win as much when you wait and blinds have hit you.Whos on first?
