  1. The Bellagio events draw a card to determine how many more hands will be played on a given day. This excellent idea is a variation on hand-for-hand play to prevent stalling "to make the next day" or "move up a spot in the money."
  2. Fair or not...I would like to give my thoughts on both the Daniel/Phil discussion and Phil Gordon himself.1) In last night's episode of LNP, Phil Gordon gives the needle to Daniel about his hand-reading abilities and how they are really not that great due to camera editing. Daniel may have used the E-Dog article as an opportunity to dig back.2) Phil Gordon then does exactly what he claims is over-the-top on Daniel's part and tries to call out every hand. In particular, his call of Gabe Kaplan's A7 (A6) is a particularly mundane display of hand-reading. Casual watchers may have been duped
  3. I can't comfort you. Not running well...2 spots win LA Poker Classic entries. This is my 4th time in 7 lifetime attempts that I have been within 10 spots of a $10,000 entry. Lost key pots all 4 times as 80%, 80%, and 2 coinflips. As seen below (I am FuzzyPuppy), I can't even lose the friggin coinflip in a normal way...it has to be excruciatingly painful.*********** # 1 **************PokerStars Game #3945213950: Tournament #19029786, Hold'em No Limit - Level XVII (4000/8000) - 2006/02/12 - 03:10:13 (ET)Table '19029786 33' Seat #2 is the buttonSeat 1: Didyouhaveit (102986 in chips) Seat 2: m
  4. Admittedly, I do not know David personally; however, much of both his behavior on television and past interview quotes seem to indicate that he is really quite immature at times and not altogether emotionally stable. Many people describe David as " a nice, level-headed individual," but he has thrown 2 of the biggest temper tantrums that I have seen by poker players on TV. The first was on GSN's Comedians vs. Poker Pros. He essentially made a terrible play by bluffing into a calling station comedian (who called with like K high) multiple times and mucking his hand so he would not have to show
  5. 10:00 - Sign up for the Aladdin's trny. at the last minute. 10:06 - A10 in BB; Fold to SB who limps and calls my raise; 10:07 - FLOP: A 7 3 ; SB checks, I bet, SB ck raises me with hand shaking like an extra in a bad 70's disco movie; I fold my hand face up and he shows a set of 7's 10:23 - 10,10 on button; EP limps for 100, cutoff limps, I raise to 500, and cutoff calls10:24 - FLOP: KQJ - He checks, I check TURN: J - Ck,Ck. 6. Bad Beats are one thing...but when one of those annoying players sucks out on you...it makes it so much worse. So I decide to kill time before playing the evening WSOP circuit at Bally's tonight. Only satellite going is $35. Ehh..ok..better than sitting around. The last 2 players fill the table. Our Hero: A slightly short, slightly overweight "slick" guy with the t-shirt and suit jacket and shades half struts, half waddles (I am also slightly overweight so I am exempt from being politically correct) to the table with his decent-looking moll, who he persuaded to play to "get this thing runni
  7. Who needs the Chappelle when you have the WSOP?It all started episode #1 when a certain gentleman overcalled Farha and Negreanu with AJ on a 765 flop. Puzzled, I thought the guy must have been some eccentric, guy...but then they said he has some sort of non-millionaire occupation.Soon after, I saw a guy challenge Chrid Ferguson with a SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTED K9 that sucked out before getting re-sucked. I made a mental note to drink cautiously only when I was fast-forwarding my TIVO.Week #2 brought us the always entertaining Phil Hellmuth and the more entertaining "Jim Pittman" I loved this guy
  8. I literally choked on a glass of iced tea and had a bunch come out of my nose when he called the New York Times a conservative institution on his CardPlayer.com video.Do you have any idea of how much iced tea burns your nose on the way up?
  9. After watching a repeat of the Championship at the Plaza, I saw an insignificant hand that piqued my curiosity due to Daniel's play.Heads-up against Deeb, with a 3 in your hand, you folded to a bet from Freddie Deeb on a board of 23QQQ. What was your rationale on this hand? Did you have a great read on Freddie's pocket nines (which he limped with and slow-played to river) or were you setting him up to lead at another similar board later in the match when you could extract a larger pot from him?
