and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

More like khakis and a collared shirt rather than jeans and a polo. I see my boss, who is also in the meeting, is wearing jeans today, the pleb. Low expectations of dress code around here.

Nobody wears a suit and tie unless it's some important executive meeting. The CEO wears an ill fitting polo and slacks on any given day. The new risk manager, who isn't on the executive floor, will wear a sport coat frequently and I gotta tell ya...he looks pretty sharp. I'd like to get to that level some day but it'll be awhile for a multitude of reasons.

Erosion of standards and values are compete when a CEO doesn't wear a suit. You're never gonna see Big Dick Brian in an ill fitting bank polo, I tell you that much. Fvckin Armani suits for the boss of all bosses.

I lost my assistant last week. She was far overqualified and this dumb company didn't promote her quickly enough, so she flew the coop. Now I'm left to do all the admin bullshit I hate doing and there's no one here to train the new person whenever he or she gets hired. I'm not a fan.

Wearing my Daltons today because I have a meeting on the executive floor and we have to dress up for those. Boy, are these boots handsome.

The best thing about those boots, as they go great in both formal and more casual situations. I love them.

a woman was overqualified for a job and was underpaid and taken for granted by her male employers? I, for one, am shocked.

It's worse than you could imagine. I first met her in our masters of laws semester. So she is a JD, LLM and practiced for a year before coming to work here. Her firm was hell so she was happy to get out and I told her how easy it was. She was obviously the best person in that role in our region, but three times they passed her over for promotion. She left to work for her father who is a financial adviser and he finally convinced her to come and get licensed and take his book in a few years. She'll be fine in the end, probably better off actually, but they screwed me because she should have been here to train her replacement.

Yeah, they're going to be great in the fall with some dark denim and oxford shirts. Gonna start going out to places just to stunt.

What does a replacement look like? Would a CFP work?

Oh sure. The problem for her is that you don't need an advanced degree to get that job. But it helps, I mean she was awesome and made my life so easy. But she was so vastly overqualified that as time went on she resented it. I did what I could for her but timing was just off and we have one huge family, with around a billion dollars, that a lady hear handles exclusively and she threatened to leave and stole the promotion that belonged to my assistant. But our boss caved in fear of any risk to that huge family, when in reality there is no risk, cause the other lady sucks.

But anyways, my boss is explicitly not hiring a JD this time because she wants someone who will be here for 10 plus years. So I'm sure to get stuck with some moron with no ambition.

I'm sure it's fine for the beautiful ones but for us uggos it's non-existent.

Figures. I've given up and deleted it. It wasn't going to bring me anything, but I figured maybe in a bigger city there'd be a chance.

JD not preferred, that sounds perfect. I'm taking the CFP within a week. Any idea what it would pay?

I can't see myself staying in the same position for 10 years, but that's good data to have for starting over in a different part of wealth management.

I just had my annual review, and it was 60 minutes of beating me up, followed by about a 20% raise. I was angry enough about the review content that I did briefly think about finding somewhere else to work, but if money is the goal, I'd be a moron to bail. I'll be getting some additional raise if I pass the CFP, but who knows whether that is in the cards.

Well from what I know about your resume and intellect you could easily slide into one of our Portfolio Manager roles. You'd mange money, and as far as I can tell the job is as easy to the good ones as mine is to me. Only problem is dealing with big bank bullshit. We also have analysts and shit like hat but you'd have to be in New York for that. But just client manger, putting people in diversified portfolios and monitoring risk to trusts, we have offices in a ton of cities. And the pay is probably starting at 75, but you might get 80 or 85 depending on the city.

Well sadly, today is my last Friday out of work. I go back next week, after only being off since June 10th. Sigh. Oh well.

Hey, I just want you guys to know how much I appreciate you. I haven't really been posting, since I'm rarely on the internet if I'm not at work. But I keep tabs. Anyway. I'll be here more starting on the 19th. Get ready to be amazed at the content I produce.
