Pvt Question Smallball Online Play

Recommended Posts

Hello all, its me again with more questions pertaining to smallball. I was reading the the new online things that Daniel posted and it seems to be a great topic. Well here goes the reason I'm writing this is to understand the concept about position or (on the button) as we all know as position. Some things I posted earlier in the wrong place was to understand that it's great for everyone who has the money to get a better understanding of how smallball works. I mention that for all on pokervt their getting all the info they need but what about the little people who cant afford pvt right now. I've always wanted to see smallball in action but can't. I have Power Holdem Strategy by Daniel Negreanu (wonderful book above all i've read). Ok getting back to the topic how can I apply smallball in a online tourney without getting my head cracked? When it comes to position am I supposed to raise every button? Do I just raise when I'm the first in the pot? I know these are a lot of questions but the only way I know how to get the correct answers is to ask. I cant help but to mention the vidoes I've seen on youtube. When it comes to playing a lot of pots am I just calling or betting? I'm sorry for all of this but, I just want to get the concept of smallball right and not have to ask all of these questions. Dont get me wrong i do know how to play poker NLH but I want smallball lolHope to get some good responses on this topic. Sorry so long winded thats me though.

You're going to have to adjust your game. You can't just sit down and say, "I am a small ball player."You will get crushed.

would you mind going over your post and making a bullet point of each question you want answered.-should I raise every button? etc... Would make it much easier to answer, though honestly your cure all won't be one thread, it will be absorbing a couple of books, choosing one or two concepts to delve deeper into, putting those into practice, posting hands, then learning from the discussion and repeat.good luck dude, edit up that post and we'll get started.

I believe the correct answer for all of the questions you've asked is... It dependsIts very difficult to give you advise or answer your questions. They are very vague and there is no possible way to answer these questions without more information.I suggest you forget the words "small ball" and replace them with the words "winning poker".

online is tought to play SB. I think you can use concepts but a more standard game especially early is best IMO. This is becaus stacks just arent that deep so your implied odds just arent there and that is what SB relies on. but things like making smaller bets and checking back for pot control when you most likely have the best hand are things that you can definetly impiment. But look adjust your game based on stack size, position, and villians range for whatever he is doing and you will thrive in online play. develop and intuition and feel for the given variables and you will thrive. those who understand concepts deeply the ones that last instead of betting bc DN said so! For example Adam Junglen, when he is asked about a tourney question you will get a very in depth response and he will give you some math to support his reasoning as well. But he also has a great feel and intuition for the game as well and that is why he is going to be good for a long time.So I don't think that you shoud say hey today I am playing small ball you should say I am going to make profitable choices that use all the variables to make the best choice. Alot of the things daniel teaches are the best choice and would be considered a small ball play but learning to make good choices will make you tons of money!
