Yeah, but Daniel seems like he's tilting a bit. I was really rooting for him in the last episode, but he's made some questionable plays/calls the last couple of episodes. Surely I'm not saying that I know more than him. I just couldn't wrap my mind around a couple of the calls he made. Like when he knew that Stupak had a bigger pocket pair than him and Stupak didn't have enough chips to give him implied odds for hitting the set, but he called the $20K anyway. Also, the call he made on Sammy when Sammy had the set and he KNEW Sammy had him beat and he called the $40K anyway with 2nd pair/bad kicker. Just paid him off. He knew better and even said so. Seemed like he was just tilting a bit. I'm sure I would be too, but I'd like to see him in better shape when Helmuth shows up so he can really stick it to him.

At this point I think DN is down something like 500K, and in his blog I think he said he ended up down around 300K overall, so in the next few episodes we should see the cards being kinder to him.

Actually, when I saw that Stupak was planning to re-raise, I semi-seriously remarked to my brother that if I was Daniel or anyone else, I'd throw away KK. I felt vindicated when it showed up that he had aces. I also didn't know how Daniel could call without the implied odds to take down a bigger pair. That said, I actually asked Daniel about this hand on FCP chat the other night. He said that he gave Stupak credit for AA, KK, or AK, and felt that he would've known if Stupak had AK post-flop. It's a legitimate call under those circumstances.

I think buying in for so much really hurt Daniel last episode. His plays were quite careless compared to the previous shows, and it looked as if he were more interested in getting even ASAP instead of playing his best.

Anyone else MAYBE, but this was actually the only hand that Stupak played all night and he RE-RAISED to 20K. NO WAY he's doing that without a made hand. Not him. Doyle, Todd, Sammy or even Deeb... then ya. But with Stupak, he doesn't make that play without a big pair. It's AA or KK MAYBE QQ. He's not risking 20% of his stack on his first hand on a draw where he's going to miss the flop 2/3 of the time. If he were deeper or had been more active then yes, I could see that. But this situation SCREAMED AA or KK and Daniel KNEW it. He even asked him how much he had left. If DN was thinking maybe AK, then that was just tilt behavior trying to find ways that he could possibly win or justify calling. He made other similar plays in the last two episodes as well.I'm not talking about putting Tran all-in with the low straight. He kind of had to do that.He drew for a flush against Farha when he had no where near the odds/implied odds to hit it as well. He said that he was doing it to get Sammy on tilt if he hit, but when you're stuck like that, I don't see it as worth it. If you're running well, then maybe but he was just digging a deeper hole for himself.

Oh, I agree. It probably had to be a made hand in that situation. After rewatching the episode again this evening, I realized that Sammy had called Daniel's raise. Therefore, Stupak's re-raise is honestly even scarier. As I remarked to Daniel though...I wasn't meaning to be critical of his play, but I appreciated the insight that he brought.Let me add that I didn't understand Brunson's check/call line on Shiek when he was chasing the flush draw. Shiek had AKs for TPTK. Brunson checked, Shiek bet the flop decently, and Brunson called. Same thing on the turn, and yet Kaplan remarked something about Shiek not betting nearly enough (he'd bet 2/3 of the pot). Brunson made the flush on the river, bet out, and Shiek folded. Basically, Brunson wasn't getting nearly the implied odds that he thought he was.
