theresa113 0
I know we have lots of Florida FCPers and I have mentioned in the past that I would love to get a weekend together where we could all meet and play some poker. As you all know, Florida sucks on land when it comes to poker. So, I thought it would be cool if we all went out on the Sun Cruz at Cape Canaveral. We could all meet on May 13th. Go out on the boat on Saturday night and play $5/$10 or $10/$20 limit or round robin (holdem and omaha). Then stay the night in a hotel and come back to the boat on Sunday and play in the $115 tournament. My only fear is bad weather or waves BUT I have a back up plan. If we all go out there and the weather is real bad, we can always drive down to Melbourne and play some crack poker. Or, if we bring chips and cards we play in the room. If you want to play in the room for $ out of my limit, I will be more than happy to deal for you (I am not great but I am not completely horrible either.) Anyway... let me know what you all think and if this works out good for you. As far as hotels, what price range are you looking for and do you want to stay in Cocoa or Titusville. Best Western in Titusville has rooms for $68 a night that night. So, how does this sound? OK... Big Time Edits here folks. I am so sorry but I did not realize that I planned this whole thing on Mother's Day weekend. Specbrad and I will be going on Saturday night only. We will meet up there early, around 4:30 or so, have dinner on the docks (awesome seafood) and then go out for the night cruise only. If you still want to go, that is cool. You can still go both days but as a mom, I should spend some time with my kid and my own mother. So, I still hope to see you there. I just will not be out on the Sunday cruise and I will not be in the tournament. Sorry all. But this may be a reminder for some of you not to forget your moms or the moms of your kids! theresa113 0
Oh... and just in case if you have never been on the Sun Cruz or if you have been from another port... this is a pretty large boat. It is an old cruise ship from the Cape. http://suncruzcasino.com/document_display.cfm?document_id=5 It is 4 stories tall. Poker room is on the top level. There are about 20 tables or so. Nice staff. Unlike the dog tracks and Hard Rock, the drinks are free.
tallytownFSU 0
I'm down. I live in Orlando, although i go to school in Tallahassee at FSU. Uhm, the Suncruz boat out of Port Canavrel is great. When I'm in Orlando, I make it out there for the $5/$10 NL Game at least twice a week. The players are usually so incredibly (sp?) soft its not even funny. When they first started running the NL game, they didn't have a max buy-in, so you could go to a $5/$10 NL game with $6,000. Me and 2 friends tried that for like 3 weeks, then people complained and they capped the game. The $10/$20 RR Game is where the real players are. We've played a big-game mix before (check DN's blog), which was real fun, because the dealers know how to deal it all. Usually, if we play $10/$20 mixed, its either S.H.O.E. or Super Horse. Super Horse is Limit Stud, NL Holdem, Pot Limit Razz, Pot Limit Omaha, and PL Stud Eight or Better. We play it with a $2000 cap.Sorry, I got to rambling, but yeah, I'm definately down. Let me know details when it gets closer.

tallytownFSU 0
Yeah. I deal up at Monticello in N. Florida, and they actually market a "Big Game". Check this, same limits, Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud, Hold em, and Triple Draw. All $2 max. You must buy in with at least a full rack of $2 chips. How gay is taht?

theresa113 0
OK... I am bumping this thread. I know there are A LOT of people on this forum from Florida. Last year, this was mentioned and everyone wanted me to plan something. So, I am now planning! If you are worried about work the next day, you shouldn't be. The boat will be back in port at 5PM on Sunday. If you live in South Florida, you should be able to zip right down 95 and make in home in 3-4 hours. If you live up in Jacksonville, you will be home in less than 2 hours. The rest of the state it will depend. Tampa should be about 3 hours or so. Anyway... I want to make a reservation (the boat trip is free) in the next week or so. We did an event through league once and we all a free buffet as well because of the size of the group. (Food was OK... I prefer going to one of the seafood resturants next door before or after the cruise.) We should all be able to find a decent place to stay overnight for under $100. The tournament on Sunday is a lot of fun. 1st place usually pays $3-$4K. I know one of us FCPers can take down the tournament. I made it to the final table once (I have played the tournament twice) so if I can do that, I know you guys can do it with no problem. I also made $477 playing $5-$10 limit on a Saturday night and again, same arguement stands since I know you are all much better at poker than I am. So... anyone else interested? theresa113 0
Excuse me butting in...but, crack game=? Crack game is where we all bring are pipes .... No... just kidding. Crack game is when everyone is in to the river. That is the way it is in Florida $1/$2 games on land. You sit there and you think everyone is on crack. It is that bad. theresa113 0
Thanks. Never heard that expression before. I think it was coined in the Army thread but definately applies to our wonderful Florida land games. I have become such an FCPer.

AAsnake88 0
Not a bump for the outing, as I won't be here for it.HOWEVER, I'm in FL (Melbourne) on vacation with the family and have been on the cruise Monday and Wednesday night this week (and going again Thursday) and have been playing the 10/20 RR game. It is quite tasty!I played the tourney Monday night, and busted 14th with 11 getting paid. It's a quick structure as they need to finish a 60 person tourney within 3.5 hours. But then I asked about the 5/10 game, and was told they only had the 10/20 RR game, and went for it. It's a bunch of regulars, and they HATE money. Omaha8 rounds are family pots, and nice money makers.I haven't seen any other games spread in the mix, but the dealers are very good, and I think all FCPers that attend will have a great time. If my wife eventually convinces me to move here, I may join in the next one.
