The Lumiere has a really nice poker room. http://www.lumiereplace.com/Also, the Ameristar is a little West of St Louis (specifically in St Charles) but is also very nice:http://www.ameristarcasinos.com/stcharles/index.asp

Funny!!! I should be heading through St. Louis at some point this week as I drive back to Chicago (I'm hoping I can find it but I think it's the official "gateway" to the west so I will have to pass through it, right?).I'll let you know when I will be there because I will more then likely be stopping to play some poker.

Harrah's has the best poker room in STL by light years IMO. It's located at Earth City Expressway and Interstate 70. I'm not sure where your work will take you, but if Rascal Flatts is playing at either the Family Arena in St. Charles or at the outdoor ampetheater (no idea what corporation has its paws on the signs this year) then you are very close to Harrah's. If you are downtown, you will nowhere near Harrah's. Anyway, Harrah's spreads 1-2 and 2-5 NL, 3-6 limit, sometimes they run a 20-40 or 30-60 limit and you will occasionally see a PL Omaha table. M-TH they run tourneys at 1 and 7, various buy ins between 35 and 155. Friday at 1 only and on Saturdays they run a larger buy in, decent structure tourney, at 2PM. I'm not sure about Sunday's. Also in the area of Harrah's is Ameristar. I'm not a big fan, but others are. It's not bad, I just much prefer Harrah's.If you happen to be downtown Lumiere Place just opened. It's really nice, has a 4 seasons and great food, but the poker room is really small.By the way, beware of Missouri's goofy laws regarding gambling. First, you will need a players card just to get into any of the Casino's. Make sure you pick one up at Customer Service before trying to get in. Second, you are by law only allowed to play 500 bucks every two hours. For example, if you buy in at noon on the 2-5 NL game and then get stacked at 12:45 you can't rebuy until 2. You can't get chips from other players and other players can't buy you chips. People have to hoard chips to play in bigger buy in games. It is the dumbest rule on earth in regards to casinos. If you need anymore info PM. I may not be able to answer until WED as I have to travel and I'm not positive I'm taking a computer. Hope this helps.

BG, I really LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Rascal Flatts, so I'm green with envy!!!!My sister just returned from St. Louis (she works for Bass Pro and went there to train their cashiers) and she visited both Harrah's and the Ameristar. She had better luck at Ameristar. She did make the required trip out to see the Clydesdales (I required her to do this so I'd get pics).Have a great trip...........wish I could make a mad dash to St. Louis with you!

Would be down.As far as casinos, my cousin frequented Harrah's and had only good things to say about it. I know the Lumiere is supposed to be nice, but haven't heard a thing about the poker games.

The Ameristar was pretty nice when I went there, not Vegas nice but the closest I've ever seen to it. Then again I am used to Gary, Indiana so my expectations were pretty low.

The gaming laws are goofy, but from everything I've read from you I don't think the 500 loss limit for every 2 hour session should be an issue. If you think it could be a problem the sessions start on the even hour, so time your buyin accordingly if you want 1K in chips. I can't imagine Rascal Flats(country?) would be performing in the city, you're probably out west at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Harrah's is your best bet, but Ameristar is actually fine. Wider selection of games, the 1/2 games are decent. It's a 30 minute drive to/from downtown to Harrah's, and Lumiere is where you want to be if you're downtown. Great action(1/3 game plays like 100NL online, 2/5 is a pissing contest), fun people. The president has a fun little 100 max 1/2 NL game, but it's hit or miss nowadays. You've said you always valet. Be SURE to do that if you play at either downtown casino. Btw, Illinois is non-smoking, so if someone suggests going across the river to gamble/drink/oglenakedwomen(Sauget FTW), keep that in mind. That's brief as far as casinos go. If you want suggestions on any other nightlife, let me know. *Slightly embarrassed Rascal Flats can sell over 2K tickets in this city*edit: We're throwing my buddy's bachelor party saturday night if you're down for some real debauchery, hehe

I've played Harrah's in St Louis a few times. It's a nice room. I highly recommend a massage while you are playing.I also have to put in a plug for the Ameristar (since I am now employed by them in another city). I've only played there once, but remember it is nice.

also bg, id be interested in "helping" if you actually need help
Dude thank for the offer, I just got back from the venue and this is a kind of small deal for me. I have a local crew of 2 and there are only 3,000 balloons and we have 3 hours to do it.And I am probably not going to be able to get out of the hotel, since I'll be at the venue all day and leave first thing Sat, so no gambling for me.Had a 3 hour lay over in Vegs, and only lost $20 on slots. I think the slots in the airport are a solid 80% pay out...
