Simo Is Smarter Than You

Recommended Posts

I paid Simo a sum of money to help me analyze poker tracker. He answered far too many questions and helped me plug my database into PokerEV and showed me how to use the filters to find leaks. This was an extremely helpful exercise and I already learned that I suck at suited connectors OOP. I'm going to go through all of the different filters and try to tighten up the game some more when I get a chance to really delve in to the information he sent me.I HIGHLY recommend hitting him up and asking him for help if you're not great at these things. I'm not sure that he's the biggest expert in terms of analyzing stats on here, but he's definitely up there, and a good dude to boot. I don't want to say how much I spent in case he wants to totally fleece you, but it was definitely worth the money.Simo's help > No help from Simo

This wasn't a surprise, was it? Everybody loses money with suited connectors out of position. The only reason for playing SCs out of position is to increase the amount you make with your good hands. That, and you can say, "Ha, ha, bitch! I made a straight."

I can vouch for simo (and I've never paid him a cent, except for what he's beaten me for by mercilessly 3betting me at plo). Anyone who's seen the low content thread in the omaha forum will know how much he (and budbundy and iggy and biglebowski) helped me with a ton of stuff when I was first starting out. +1 simo.

How much did you pay for this service?
I offer a $10 reading comprehension course, if you're interested.

For the record, when I contacted him for advice, I offered him money, not the other way around. As for being a loser with suited connectors OOP, I wouldn't have thought I'd lose more with them than I would from just folding preflop. :club:

I can just hear the huge sigh that Simo lets out when I MSN him with some retarded math questions. LOL.
Wow, I think we got scammed. Those times at the tournament where I saw you working out the math.........you were actually talking to Simo weren't you? Scam!!!!!!

I hate to post in a strategy thread before Simo.He confuses me with all those numbers (I am obviously a feel player) and convinces me i am wrong.

  • 1 month later...

Hey Simo, in a few days I finally have all my depositing troubles over and will be able to throw about 500euro on. Not enough but all I can do for a few months and means I can grind. Annnnyway...I have no idea about any of the stats or huds or anything. Ive seen you tell people to wait for this or they should buy that etc. If you were starting from scratch like me and will probably spend about $100 on it, what should I get?Be warned I'm a computer tard so any help will lead to many more questions,Cheers

The problem is, PokerEV is going to be the best on the market, but who knows when it will be released. Maybe in 10 days, maybe a month. Deadlines keep getting pushed back further and further. The possibilities really are Holdem Manager or PT3 in the meantime. PT3 has a 30 day trial (might be 60, I'm not certain), and HEM has a 14 day trial.I think HEM is a lot better than PT3 having tried them both (I'm using HEM at the moment), but I would strongly recommend not buying either of them. Go for the Holdem Manager trial, and if PEV isn't released by the time the trial finishes, use the PT3 trial.BTW, I approve of thread titles like this.

Right so, I'm waiting for the PokerEV, as I still don't know where Im depositing and havent fully sorted out the card I will be using and I've seen you post enough about it.So basically from PEV I'll be able to have all the stats on players when I'm playing and I'll have the graphs and stats to work on etc for my own benefit? I had it in my head I needed two things, like HUD and PT but this is a very loose guess. I'll start looking it all up soon

PT2 and PAHUD were two programs, and were the standard for a few years. The next generation (PT3, HEM and PEV) all have HUDs built in.PokerAce bought the PokerTracker name, and produced PT3. Unfortunately they royally ****ed up the HUD, and have spent the last 3 months trying to fix it. As a result, the tracker is pretty weak and underfeatured in comparison to Holdem Manager, which was released commercially in I think January.Holdem Manager is overall a lot better than PT3, but I've used an early version of the PEV tracker (and I've seen some of the other features he's developed), and it is just far better than HEM.

This post is a day after I bought PT3 :(This is the first time I've ever used pokertracker, and I'm not really understanding what all the #'s mean. I've tried searching a bit in the PT forums but I can't find what I'm looking for, do you have a link of somewhere I can read up on what all that junk means?

http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=12767http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...howtopic=117977edit: FWIW, PT3, HEM and PEV given time will all be fantastic software. It's just that PT3 made a mistake early on, and it ended up jumping up to bite them in the ass when they released commercially. The HUD problem was the reason they extended the trial from 30 days to 60. It is supposed to be a lot better and more stable now though.
