I do not know enough about the commercial aspect of this. I want to see good poker and not an all in fest. When you have entertaining players like Kido, I would want to see a lot more of his creativity played out. This years WSOP final table was long and ends up on the cutting room floor reducing it to highlights of a series of Gold's monster hands. Why can't the blind structure of the WPT be more reasonable and maybe final tables be shown over 2 weeks on television. I think this would create an even higher interest in the programming. What is the point of having X amount of weeks televised and then 6X amount of weeks of repeats. This is why I love HSP, it is the same table extended over weeks and look forward to tuning in week after week. Does the WPT do this because they feel people love to see the deadly "all-in " bet? , or is it the cost of production? I think it gives the wrong impression of poker and viewers don't realize that it is because of the blind level and chip counts that the players are left no choice to survive. How is Cho going to look with 6 3 off suit moving all-in to try and steal a raise with his position? Most viewers won't realize that he was basically forced to gamble to survive and it wasn't plays like that, that got him to the final table with 2.6M in chips. So, where is the happy medium for television and blind structure?

shorter the length of the table, less time WPT has to pay cameramen, crew, etc, etc. They know people will watch it anyway, so they don't care.
Thats not necessarily true. People who will continue to consistently watch poker, people like us, and know the difference between good poker and bad, wont tune in as regularly and that will show in their ratings. And I really dont buy the argument that they are saving on production costs. WPT makes tons of cash, you're telling me that paying a camera crew is having a major effect on their bottom line?? Doesn't make enough sense. Poker shows are their product, I dont think they're skimping on the production, I think they are just stuck into thinking that they need to broadcast one FT over one two hour show.

I think people will watch the WPT regardless of what kind of blinds it is. They may prefer the slow structure, but I doubt many will stop watching it in protest. The WPT want to have a 2hr (summin like that) show. They also want to have alot of action to make it exciting. General people won't understand most of the complicated plays that are made, but they will understand the big all ins between two big hands. But I don't think the viewers should be complaining. Poker After Dark has alot more quality players and alot slower structure but alot of people don't like that. People always look for something to complain about, when rly, it makes no difference to them..

Its not a complaint by viewers, but rather in response to DN's comments in his blog. It is a question of whether or not it is poker or luck when the blind structure is so intense at the final table of a WPT event.

I know it's in response to DNs blog, but when viewers complain about it, I think it's pretty stupid. From a player point of view, I'm sure 90% of players would like to have a deep stacked final table

can you show me some facts that will back this up?
yeah, I had always heard that they float between the red and black. I never thought they made a ton of cash. Here is another question, why would they put 2 WPT touneys so close together so that one has to rent a jet to get to the next? Granted, a jet was absolutely needed but it seemed like it was pretty close to it.
