Recommended Posts

well let me first start off by saying im a big reader on these forums but havent posted that much in the past.. hopefully that will change soon. my 21st birthday is tomorrow (22nd) and tonight and tomorrow.. and possibly monday i will be in AC gambling. i consider myself a good hold em player... im still young and learning and ive been playing for a few years.. but this will be my first trip down to AC to play poker.. i was trying to find some stuff online and talk to some friends of mine but everyone was giving me different opinions..any advice on some places to play? my bankroll for the weekend will be somewhere between $200-500. so that could become an issue. im looking to play cash tables as well as a tournament or two. any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated! thanks guys :club:

Play the $65 buyin tournaments at Showboat, there are like 3 every day. I think 11am, 7pm, and maybe one other. For the buyin, it is the best structure in town. Get there early, especially if you play in the 7pm.I haven't played 200nl in AC, and you basically don't even have a buyin, so it's not the best idea. FWIW, I hear that Showboat and Caesar's has soft ring games. If you enjoy sports betting, go to the sports room at Borgata, make like $60 worth of prop bets and they give you a drink ticket for each one. Enjoy!

$1-$2 NL at the Borgata is pretty soft...especially on the weekend. You should be able to get $300 up pretty fast at the right table.

Yeah, at the 25/50 nl table, but if you have a decent amount of experience, you will do just fine at 1/2 nl and 3-6 LHE.

This is generally true for LHE, but the 1/2 nl list goes pretty fast and they constantly start new tables. I wouldn't expect to wait more than 45 minutes. Plus, there is a food court right next to the poker room (ask for directions). Put your name in, then go grab a bite if the list is long. Enjoy one of the best poker rooms in the world.

sports betting is illegal in atlantic city ....Borgota is the nicest room, but also the most crowded. For a first timer the showboat, Hilton, or Topicana is a nice place to start. If you are looking to play anything other than NL holdem or 2-4 limit.... tropicana, borgota, and Taj are your only choice in town.I will be there Wed and Thurs ...Just missed ya .

IMG_1939.jpgThe best room in town.Showboat does have good low buy-in tournies, though.
Hey thats my lucky room...right under the G in the sign.Except when I can get a handicapped room...they're the closest thing to a suite without being an uber balla.Oh and for the OP yeah play some 3/6 limit...build a little coin maybe take some shots in sit and gos.
