Daniel won't be able to send any updates today so we'll be stuck with Poker News.It wouldn't surprise me if he's running a bit late since his sleep pattern is all screwed up right now and the Hotel he's staying at is 30 minutes away from the casino.

One of the tables to watch today is table 14 with Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier seated next to Marcel Luske. That could be fun to watch!!

Bad Start for NegreanuOne of the brightest stars in poker, Daniel Negreanu, arrived a little late on day 1B. His table is surrounded by photographers and fans with great expectations on the the PokerStars pro, but he has got off to a pretty bad start."I lost a few pots just after sitting down, but apart from that I feel fine. A little tired from jet lag, but I am happy to be back in Europe," says Negreanu.

Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu arrived slightly late to the tournament area, but he wasted no time in getting involved with a hand against a fellow Daniel – Daniel Pidun. On a rainbow flop of K-5-3, Daniel N bet with Daniel P calling. The turn was a deuce which Daniel P checked. “No, no, not that easy” said Negreanu, who had already mentioned the fact that he had nothing. He bet out 600 - called.A ten on the river, no flush on the board. Daniel P made it 600 which seemed to surprise Negreanu a little. He’s one of the game’s best and skilled enough to make you wonder sometimes if he knows exactly how the hand will play out before the cards are even dealt.“I think you have nothing” he says, “unless you have king-ten?”Negreanu called and Daniel Pidun promptly showed king-ten. Negreanu down to around 7k.PokerStars Blog

Negreanu Fights BackDaniel Negreanu came a long way to take part in the PokerStars EPT German Open. "I was really tired after the flight, and I decided to skip the first level to be able to stay awake throughout the day. I lost 30 percent of my stack in the first three hands, but now I have gone back up to 8,800 and I can't complain", says the Canadian poker pro. The crowd around Negreanu's table was too big and tournament announcer Thomas Kremser had to ask spectators to step back to give the players at the table some breathing room..

Daniel Negreanu has doubled up after a huge hand developed with Jens Lübbe. With betting and raising to the turn Daniel was unsure what course to take until his opponent happened to say something to him. Daniel asked him to repeat what he’d said but at the same time had made up his mind, moving all-in.“You got me beat but I call anyway” said Lübbe. He was right. Queens for Daniel, K-J for –Lübbe and Daniel doubles up.(PS Blog)-----Negreanu is a Great EntertainerIn his usual fashion, PokerStar Pro Daniel Negreanu keeps talking to all his opponents on table 2. After losing almost half of his stack in the beginning, he is now in better shape with 18,000 in front of him. He has also changed his language into some odd mixture of English and German, and all his bets are announced as “Tausend” and “Hundert.” The spectators seems to enjoy it as much as Negreanu himself does. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Canadian with a pretty big stack at the end of the night.(pokernews)

Relax dude, it's all VERRRY complicated. You see, they have wake up, gather the updates, enter the data into an e-format and send it up to satellites in OUTER SPACE! and THEN, it gets to travel all the way back down to earth, fighting atmospheric interference, rain, snow, Hillarys' shrieking, and finally into the inter-web!, where it is then disbursed through a series of 'Tubes' and finally comes out from God knows where and ends up here. It's a pretty damn efficient system really. We should get the next update sometime this evening.

el oh ellll shooting the slowroller.hmmmm...maybe they could incorporate this idea for the World Series?
I was just wondering... Didn't the guy mean "nice read" because Daniel called out K-T? haha DN took it the wrong way and thought he meant that it was a nice call and he was beat.

Pokernews has Daniel at 36,000. Most of his day 1 goals usually involve having between 2-3x his starting stack, so he's ahead of schedule it appears.
Now lets knock on wood, and hope he doesn't have his patented "30-minutes-left-in-the-day blow up".

Shush! If Daniels learned anything from his extensive online play the last few months, it's gotta be taking advantage of Eurodonks.Go DN!

Another Victim for Kid PokerThe day has been an interesting one, with Daniel Negreanu being the most exciting player to watch. On a {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Iliodoros Kamatakis bet out 1,800 holding {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for trips. Negreanu raised to 5,000, Kamatakis went all in with his final 10,000 and the Canadian called announcing, “Ten high,” and showing {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Since there were no clubs on the turn or river, even Kamatakis thought he had won the pot, but the {7-Diamonds} on river was good enough to give Negreanu his straight and eliminate another player from the tournament. Kid Poker is now up to 42,000.Keep it going Daniel

I heard something about somebody getting a big boat and laying cable made out of glass all the way across the bleeping ocean. I just can't fathom such a thing.

Luckily, we all know that the EPT has a stronger field of players than the WPT or WSOP
