Clonie Gowen Said Something About This

do u think she was referring to herself and other pro's who might play a tougher competition at higher stakes?60pct win/loss rate seems a little low to me. anyone know any figures on win loss percentages of good players? in mostly full ring games i suppose sometimes down to 6 handed.

On the face of it, "session win percentage" would seem pretty meaningless.

Brain Townsend has said that he wins something like 57% of his sessions.Ive won probably over 75% of my sessions at 1/2 and 5/5 NL live, but that may be variance and those games are just very juicy. To be honest tracking how many sessions you win or lose is a waste of time. You could theoretically lose alot more sessions than you win and still be a winning player.

Gus. They say Gus doesn't win as many sessions as the other pros, but when he does, he makes up for all the losses in one night. It's easy to see that's true, because of his style.

Townsend plays mostly HU and some 6 max. Much higher variance there. You can easily win 75% of your FR cash sessions if you play fairly tight. Overall, 60% is reasonable for most good winning 6 max players I'd think.

Billy plays every weeknight. His sessions go as follows:Session 1: -$2,300Session 2: -$5,700Session 3: -$1,200Session 4: +$45,500Session 5: -$2,600Billy only has a 20% session winrate. He doesn't give a rats ass.

Yep.
I think barry g said something just like this as well... that he wins %60 of his sessions or a winning player does I cannot recall one of those two.
I think a discussion very similar to this went on for a week in general this summer.

Yeah in Ace on the River he said that in his lifetime he has won something like 58% of his limit holdem sessions and 70% of his NL holdem sessions.
