nomad_monad 0 Posted November 12, 2007 Share Posted November 12, 2007 played ok.raise size is fine - when he puts in that 3rd raise, he's committed himself and isn't folding. villain's usually not getting crazy here with 99/TT often enough for you to continue profitably.i think it's also valid to just flat call here since most of the time the flop raise serves only as a protection bet against AK (but not AdKd). i.e., you're not getting any action except from a hand that's ahead or drawing super live against you. at higher limits you might get a better hand to fold (like QQ no diamonds), but not at 50NL. the reason you can afford to call flop and try for a showdown here is that tons of cards can freeze villain. if i were to take the calling route, i'd call another 1/2 potter or so on the turn - which gets us to the river for the same amount of $ as the flop raise. anything more and i'm gone.
