I've been a NLH player for the most part but first learnt poker playing limit / O8. I've read lots on Omaha (SS2, Rolf's articles etc) and watched the cardrunners PLO videos with the itent on taking it up. I've played it the last couple of nights and have been absolutely loving it. What a refreshing change from multi-tabling NLH on auto-pilot. I've been playing low-limts HA games (PLH/PLO rotation) on Full-Tilt. I've been running obscenely well which has also made it extremely enjoyable but I do find myself in numerous situations where I'm not sure of the best play. Sorry if there are too many

Im in melbourne right now, and have been playing at the crown. They have a seat charge of $AUS 5 per hour and they rake the pot. The 2-3 NL game has a max buy-in of $200. They also offer 1-2NL ($60 max buy in), 4-8 Limit, 10-20 limit, 5-5-10 NL and a few other games. They are currently refurbishing the poker room and so it may be smaller than usual right now. I think that hsi core NL theory of moving in with draws is -EV at low limits. For example, I think that he states moving in with 78 on a flop of A56, if you believe your opponent has AK. I think that this assumes you are playing with very deep stacks and that your opponent can fold TPTK. At low limits I don't believe the stacks are deep enough (100bb) and you do not have the same fold equity to make this profitable. 83/0 means he'd put into the pot 83% of the time (we were 3 handed for alot of this time) and he'd raised pre flop 0% of the time. In this hand I folded. He had A5 for a full house.

Stats were 34/9 after only 32 hands. The only hand that makes the flush that I can imagine him raising pre flop with is AdJd. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't have the full house, I don't believe he is tricky enough to check call the flop/turn and then go for the check raise on the river. I think that I can get some value by getting called by AJo / AK. In the actual hand I checked and won as he mucked. He told me he had AK.

I'd lead at the flop and the turn if called, or check call the turn if raised on the flop. I check / fold the river unimproved. I am very suprised by your call on the river, I don't like it at all, seeing as villan has shown some degree of strength on every street. The only hand I can see you beating that the villan could possibly have played this way is JTo.

My threshold for raising pre-flop tends to be with AT @ 6 max. I'm suprised by your suggestion about raising. Against passive calling stations you need to hit and so have little fold equity. It's not a good idea to bluff a calling station! Also @ 1-2, there's also so many players that don't pre flop raise and so you'll often find yourself dominated by someone limp-calling with AJ etc.

Sorry I misread the turn card, I thought it was a blank. Reading it correctly, I think that it depends on the player. Call a LAG, raise a tightie.

I'd probably fold the flop. It seems like you may suggest calling down as you don't seem to give him credit for a 9. I don't like this line. Calling the turn and river would cost you 2BB, so instead why not raise the turn (2BB)? If you are 3 bet then you can easily fold, likewise if you are called and then face a bet on thr river. Raising the turn you may force hands that are beating you such as any small pair to fold.

I wanted to take advantage of the fact that he nearly always made a continuation bet. I rarely check-raise but from a metagame perspective i thought it advantageous to get one in. When I check to him in future hands I want him to check behind me (to avoid being check raised) rather than bet. I think strategies like this are more prevalent short-handed when you are in pots constantly against the same players than in full-ring when you have far fewer clashes with the same players.

That looks great for when I get my new computer but unfortunately my current computer doesn't meet the system requirements. My computer is an antique, i don't even have Windows 2000 or XP like foldershare.com requires. If I try to open up more than one table it crashes, hence the need for a new one. Any recomendations for which PC to get, I'll mainly be using it for poker. Im starting a new job soon and I believe that they will give me a laptop but I'm unsure whether I'll be able to corrupt it with poker.
