SuitedAces21 2,722
i'm unfamiliar with that game, but there would have been no variance in what cards came out that winning hand? every hand has exactly the same amount of cards so his playing only brought it out sooner and stole it from you had you been alone? Napa_Don 688
I love 3 card poker. J high or better and I’m playing it out. Can be extremely swingy though. At least I think I think I’m thinking of 3 card.
hank213 1,823
i'm unfamiliar with that game, but there would have been no variance in what cards came out that winning hand? every hand has exactly the same amount of cards so his playing only brought it out sooner and stole it from you had you been alone? Because they use a freshly shuffled deck each hand when he sat at the table he was getting "my hand" and I was getting "the dealer hand" and the dealer was getting a fresh hand. Once I dropped out he was still getting "my hand" and the dealer went back to getting their own. Sometimes I'm just riffing. Can I riff? CAN I RIFF? I love 3 card poker. J high or better and I'm playing it out. Can be extremely swingy though. At least I think I think I'm thinking of 3 card. dealer qualifies with Q high which means if you beat the Q high you get paid on both the ante and the play bets. if they don't qualify you only get paid on the ante bet. not sure why you would play J high...if there is a mathematical strategy to that let me know. usually i'm just chasing a set (or higher) to get that 30 to 1 pay out. i'll play my QJ or maybe Q10 and if I see an ace in the door and I don't even look at the other 2 cards.
Napa_Don 688
I feel like I read somewhere you should always go with J high but who knows. It might be Q high. Probably why I’m so swingy.

Essay21 2,385
Nap, you got an interview today right?
Napa_Don 688
Nah, tomorrow. Telling me I’ll meet with 3 people and it will only be 1.5 hours so either I’m going to be getting grilled for an hour and half by a panel or this is just a quick “make sure he’s not weird” meeting with some of the business line leaders I’d be supporting. Either way I’d feel a lot more comfortable if that other company would actually give me that offer.
InternetExplorer 2,609
You are talking with how many firms, with how much runway until your current job ends? You are probably 90%+ to be employed up to your financial baseline by the time your current gig is up, and there’s no reason why you couldn’t keep looking for an upgrade afterwards. Don’t be scared in these interviews, you’ll be fine. Companies are in such a tough spot with the current job market.
Napa_Don 688
Two with like 7 months to go. But it’s still hard to tell myself that and really believe that the job market isn’t going to turn or itll be this “easy” to find a new job then. Because I can’t help but think that for these jobs...there’s a bunch of other people who applied and didn’t get it so that could easily be me in the future.
SuitedAces21 2,722
he's right, nap. you're gonna be just fine in all this.
Napa_Don 688
Interview went fine I think. Wouldn’t be surprised if they called me in for more interviews or if they said “thank, but no thanks”. Still no official offer from the other place.
brvheart 1,752
I went to Arkansas with my almost 18-year-old daughter for a college visit. It went well. The school is a little small (2500 students, including grad students) and she was expecting an Iowa State feel. I think it will be a good spot for her, but who knows. She might want to go to a big state school. We will see.

Essay21 2,385
Thanks for stopping by, Brvy. You could have asked how I’m doing but it’s fine, I’m fine. brvheart 1,752
Excel Question. I have a SUMIF formula that is returning "0", when I want it to return a blank. It's working correctly in one workbook and not working correctly in the other. Makes no sense to me. Formula that works fine on one workbook and not in the other: =SUMIF(BZ11:CJ11,">0") I know I could fix it by nesting the sumif inside an if formula, but why is it working on the one workbook without the if statement? Any ideas? I already tried deleting the contents of the cells in row 11. They are blank.
brvheart 1,752
if that's true, he's out as my best friend. Objection. It doesn't work that way. We have to both agree to stop being best friends, and that will never happen. Sorry Naps. Back to #2.

(However, I did let my boss know that I might be in Minneapolis. So there's that. PM me your address so I can figure out how long it will take to get there) You absolutely don’t need to just come for a one day road trip. Plenty of opportunities to smoke ribs and see the place. Also, I’m so far behind having stuff put together I’m almost embarrassed to have people over this weekend. Try format painting from the workbook that does work to the other. Otherwise you could always just do a conditional format to change the text color to white if =

Otherwise you could always just do a conditional format to change the text color to white if = 0 I'm so annoyed with you for fixing my problem so easily. I pasted the formulas from the one that worked like 10 times, but I tried something other than pasting 'formulas' and it worked immediately (even though the actual formula didn't change at all which is even more confusing to me). Anyway, thanks for helping me solve the problem.
Napa_Don 688
Yeah there must have been some weird formatting thing going on and if you’re pasting just formulas it’s not going to carry over the formatting of the other. It happens.
