That really is awful. I'm actually sad just thinking about it.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Oh, shit, I forgot to address an oversight in McGee's list of acceptable ways to prepare brisket: pastrami. It's a lot more planning, but I think it's actually more forgiving than just smoking an unbrined brisket, and the results are incredible. Bonus points if you also make your own kraut. You can get weird with kraut and pickle all kinds of weird shit too, I really like to do a mix that's heavy on sprouts.

Let's not start saying things we can't take back.

It would certainly be nice if McGee took this to heart. He’s long said things to me that I’m sure, deep down, he wishes he could take back.

Went up to Harrahs to get in PLO but it was full so I hopped in 1/2 NLHE and run 500 to 800 when I get 77 in late position and I limp. Button makes it 12, two callers and I consider three betting to 75 because button only has 90. But I don’t, I just call. Soon as I do I think I made a mistake. But then the flop comes 8 7 2, two spades. Checked to me and I check. Button makes it 12, small bland makes it 30. I call the 30. Button ships it. Small blind calls. I raise to 330. Small blind has about 700 behind the 90 she called off. I saw her chase every draw she’s had and show them all when she missed so I want her out. But she calls the 330. Now I know she has a big hand, probably 22.

Turn is an off suit 6, and I push my last 413. She calls. She has 22. Scoop a 1600 dollar pot.

I would give you zero action based on your stories. All you do is set hunt

i play more hands than anyone else at almost every table i'm at. i only relay a story if the pot gets big. i'm raising and c-betting to victory countless times a night in these games. one of the games last week was so tight i raised 6 hands in a row, c bet to victory on all of them. on the seventh hand i raised again, called by 5 people. i was in the small blind and bet 25 dark and they all folded. really unlucky because i flopped trips but these 1/2 games are really weak. it's really hard to find a good game in KC. when HPT was here it was different, i was playing good and tight and made around a thousand. but most nights its 70 year old men who play nothing but the nuts.

this lady today at least was chasing draws. anyone else at the table and i don't make that flop re-raise, but that board was pretty wet.

for example, i raised with this hand:

So my first week of teaching school is in the books. (Kind of "eased" into it with a ton of tutoring the couple of weeks leading up to it.)

Books that my students are currently reading:

Jurassic Park

Catcher in the Rye

Old Yeller

Nine Stories (while waiting on copies of Ready Player One to come in)

Some of them are good readers. The ones doing Catcher...not so much...they're hard to motivate...which I guess is a little funny based on the book.

I do have one regret. Not putting Pau ahead of Kobe on my all time Lakers top ten list.

How was everyone’s Monday?

Mine was okay. I did avaoid a pointless day trip to St. Louis, so that was nice. Have a day trip to see clients in Springfield on Thursday so that’s gonna be a long day. But I’ll survive.

It was fine. The one thing I was going to do today ended up being cancelled so I just worked on researching stuff for the house. The other analyst said our boss went off in his one on one today about the controller from the other bank. He’s hit another level of not giving an f that I am hundreds of thousands of dollars away from achieving. Can’t wait for my one on one tomorrow.

For whatever reason our boss decided to schedule our end of budget celebration for tomorrow after work. The budget that we finished in December of last year. I’d rather he just let us have a half day rather than making us go for drinks after work in a town 25 miles from my house which makes it far to drive after drinking but also way to expensive for an Uber there and back. Just the worst.

Hobos have no money at all, and rarely do I see them give an f.

I talked to the CEO a few times today, and twice he awkwardly asked me, “how are you doing?” Understand that this man has the highest social IQ of anyone I’ve ever met, and a moment is only awkward if he meant it to be. It was an attempt to get me to open up about whatever it is they think is going on with me.

Basically, after the incident where the guy from management tried to mine my girlfriend for info, I decided I wasn’t going to have real conversations about my career or mental state anymore. It is a lonely existence. I gotta find a new mentor. I wonder what Randy Reed is up to.

Had a little plumbing issue so I took the day off. Didn't use ETO, just didn't go in. The last 2 times I've put in ETO prior to taking a day off I ended up working at least a half day. Also, between last Wednesday at 9 AM and Thursday at 9 PM I worked 22 of those 36 hours. I figured I'm due some comp time.

I’m so gd jealous of people that get to work from hole regularly. My productivity would almost surely go up and my job satisfaction would skyrocket. 80% of the days go by without me speaking to another person about anything workrelated anyways. Gdi just let me work from home.
