Do Not Use Regions Van Lines

Recommended Posts

Just a public service announcement. Do not use Regions Van Lines. They will show up late without enough movers. They will damage your things. They will give you a lowball estimate and then demand double or they will keep your stuff hostage. And if you complain about your damaged items, the movers will literally leave in the middle of the move in and tell you to file a claim if you don't like their service.

Sorry to hear... I moved last year and had a really tough time picking movers, and while my experience wasn't terrible I really felt I had 0 leverage the entire time and the whole keeping possessions hostage thing was threatened a couple times. The cost difference between quotes and estimates being on a guess of total weight (which can not be verified by the customer) put all the power in the sketchy movers hands.

Sounds like I need to get into the moving racket.

match made in heaven... insert slow motion of you running through a field of flowers towards a moving truck driving slowly towards you...

FWIW, when I got out of the joint, one of the 'guaranteed jobs' probation/parole always flogged to ex cons was mover.

That is assbreaking work for no pay; a job of last resort for bottom of the barrel;. The kind of people who don't respond well to 'reason'.

Let this be a life lesson. Everyone you meet should be categorized as either a 'reason' person or a 'consequences' person.

Consequences people respond to consequences, reason people respond to reason. Everyone is either one or the other, with intelligence determining what they are.

Trying to use consequences against reasonable people will get you laughed at, no different than trying to reason with people who only understand consequences. Once you've determined someone is a 'consequences' person, you must make mental preperations for what those consequences will be should they cross you, so they can be employed on a moments notice.

Movers, auto mechanics, lawn service, tradesman, eight times in ten, they're going to be 'consequences' people.

Protip: When you deal with a 'shithead on the job', one of the most powerful tools you have is to turn on a video camera and start asking them the same questions only this time, with a camera pointed in their face. If their boss won't respond to that, the internet will.

wait, aren't you an attorney? you're just going to leave it at that?

Oh, no. We contacted the Florida Attorney General and filed a fraudulent inducement lawsuit with a second count of breach of contract. I just wanted people to know to avoid that company.
