I think I remember him saying he lost thousands of dollars playing poker for pennies...that would have to take a while. Unless he was playing a 10/20 NL table, and bought in with a 5 gallon jug of pennies, then I guess it wouldn't take too long. i raise 3 cents.

In one of the backroom interviews, he said he lost 1500 in pennies. I took that to mean he, as a bum, was playing with other bums for pennies and lost that much.He said, "then I started playing for real money." so it's logical to assume the pennies reference refers to his initial experience with poker before he played any big games. But he never called with jack high. That's for sure.CT

I played 20/40 and 30/60 with Ellix earlier this year in at the Reno WPT event. He was looking for stake money just to get in the game, and I dude I met playing in the ring games down there (who had NEVER met Ellix before) staked him for a couple of tournies. He must have backers. His WSOP money is long gone for sure! At any rate, he is nothing but a lose, super-aggressive donk. If a player like that is catching cards . . . look out. Otherwise, he's just a joke!

well.. that was quite a laugh for him to critize both Skalanksy's and McManus's style of play and theory on poker lol... at least he's a bit better dressed and doesn't look like the worlds most ghetto looking predator.

closetwin said:"...he said he lost 1500 in pennies..."Man, the poor guy couldn't even afford to play for cigs!Stu Unger called w/ jack high before, and won!Shouldn't McManus do a follow up on "5th Street" for Newsweek or someone after it made such a splash, and now they've let those damn murderers out?

Its nice to see that he has really cleaned up since last years WSOP. He also looks a lil more professional (at least in the interview) and I'd love to see him get to another final table, hes just great to watch on TV. But of course like someone else stated before he is definately being backed by someone cuz I doubt he has even 1 penny left of the money he won last year. All I can say is good luck and wouldnt it be awesome if he won the Main Event!? He definately is a person I wouldnt mind seeing taking it down. :-)
