I just noticed that the final table of all events is played the next day, 4 hours after the next event starts. Do most players that make it to a final table start the next event then leave and go play the final table or do they just skip the event for that day?

Depends how ambitious you are. I think it's called double dipping and it is done, although obviously not very recommended. Depending on how long the final table lasts you risk being chipped down by blinds in the next event.Scott Fischman had an article on it in Cardplayer, where he had to play both a final table and an Champions invitational at the same time. He spoke to the management and they actually moved the invitational back two hours to accomodate him. Obviously this can't be done at the WSOP. It's just a risk you take going in when you sign up for consecutive events.
