Table has been very tight passive..Usually one raise is taking down the pot, and we are seeing very very few pots..Villan has been tight like the restNot sure how to play this w/ the stacks at hand..I obviously want to re raise here, but I'm not sure what is a good amount... Would a re raise to 7 or 8 K be good? Push? I would hate for her to call the reraise to 8 K, flop come w/ an A or K and have to fold, but is that the best play?Table '31934235 207' 9-max Seat #4 is the buttonSeat 1: knalle (30295 in chips) Seat 2: WALLEYE 99 (26210 in chips) Seat 3: stanley2002 (14105 in chips) Seat 4: wrangler39 (11791 in chips) Seat 5: airboxguy (20485 in chips) Seat 6: Wildan (15405 in chips) Seat 7: duratech (8368 in chips) Seat 8: vickie29 (16254 in chips) Seat 9: throwemaway (19595 in chips) airboxguy: posts small blind 400Wildan: posts big blind 800*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to throwemaway [Qc Qs]duratech: folds vickie29: raises 1600 to 2400throwemaway:

There's always calling and evaluating after the flop.... I don't like it very much, but that's a passive line you could take.If you reraise to 8k, you're putting in a lil less than 50% of your stack... I would hate to do that, and fold to a villain jam on a A xx or K xx flop.I'm not sure what you should do, but raising seems to be the best play, to 7.5k-8.5k. Play cautiously, and pray that no A or K hits unless it's accompanied by a Q.

I hate calling there because it offers attractive odds to everyone behind me, especially this one loose player who was in the blinds..Playing QQ from the middle of no where 4 handed is not appealing to me

raise it to 6k.If she (or someone behind you) comes over the top it's an easy fold.If she's folding to 7k she'll likely fold to 6k.Plus, something closer to a min-raise may look like AA and KK and make her, and others, more leary.Calling would be an option in later position...not here.

Really?She pushes - pot is 16254 + 6000 + 800 + 400 = 23454It costs 10254 to call.We only need 30% equity. We easily get that from a range of AA, KK, AK.

OK, say it's ONLY AK suited. Then we are about 27%, only 3 points out. It only takes a move allin with 1/3 of her AKo hands to make this easily +EV.Do you expect her to fold or smooth call with JJ/AQ/AKo every time? If not, you would have to call.

Even in a $3 tourney with a tight player raising utg+1 and then reraising your raise I'm going to quite comfortably remove AK from her holdings.JJ will call the reraise more often then raising, and will fold more often than raising, and I will confidently discount (though not necessarily eliminate) that holding. If I do call her pf allin, it's because I put JJ in her holdings, not AK or AQ.

What would she do with AK?

Usually fold...sometimes call (I can see a stop'n'go with AK before a rereraise allin pf, though I doubt that too - she's not putting you on 88 or 99).She just isn't in enough trouble here to justify a rereraise for all her chips...she's shown strength with her ep raise (along with her tight image)...you've shown even more strength by raising her raise. If she has any brains in her head QQ is the worst hand she puts you on.Now, if you discount her quality simply based on the tourney fee (an not unsound conclusion), but also ignoring all other factors, then you would have to call the rereraise.I can let this go and chalk it up to bad luck and keep my 13k stack.

I would just jam this preflop. You have only 24X BB. Since Villain raised to 3X BB, a reraise would be to somewhere around 9-10X BB which commits more than 1/3rd your stack and it would suck to have to fold to an Ace or King flop.In this spot, I want to race against AK since our stack is not that big and based on the blind levels, I'm assuming we're still quite some way from the final table. At the same time, your jam looks a lot like AK or AQ and you can likely get calls from a smaller pocket pair.

That would be SO weak with AK. AK vs a fairly tight reraising range of [AK, QQ+] has 40% equity. I would be pushing AK there everytime. You would REALLY fold AK to a single small reraise?

If my image is tight, and raiser has shown some degree of solidity, yes.If I have habitually folded to reraises, probably not.I've got enough chips left here I don't have to bank everything on AK.I've never folded AK incorrectly.I have certainly called/pushed it incorrectly, and I'm trying to fix that.

1/6 she pushes her JJ1/8 she pushes her AK1/16 she pushes her AQ1/1 she pushes her AA1/1 she pushes her KK1/1 she pushes her QQI think that is perfectly reasonable, and far tighter than I expect. Against that range we have a call.If we raise to $7k, we only need 27% equity, which we get fromAsKsJsJhQQKKAA.(QQ+, 1/6 JJ and just the AK of spades)

shpaget, wow.folding QQ to a repush preflop after putting in 7k would blow, given the remaining stack and oddsher range is certainly wide enough.I'm with Simo here. How do you know you've never laid AK down incorrectly, btw ?Also, I probably push preflop.I think we do get called by her worse pairs that way, as someone said. And, if the board comes A/K she can represent it, w/o holding it.Would we raise to 8k with AK here? I would not. I want to see all 5 cards given the stacks. I'd flat call or push with AK in Throw's pos. (with a flat call only if table super tight and I'm probably going to have pos)

Actually, I said I'd fold to a reraise after putting in 6k. :club: I know because the handful of times I've folded AKo/AKs pf I've been fortunate enough to see the holdings of my opponent(s). That I would have sucked out in a few of them doesn't matter. I was in a world of hurt each time, and in no situation was I getting the right price, tourney or cash game.

Why?They call with AK and hit on turn? They folded ?THey had AA ?
Folded..I felt I could have gotten more value possibly, and it was also a risky play w/ so many people left to act behind me
