Great Story On Drones

Recommended Posts

"Two years ago the Wall Street Journal reported Iran-funded militants in Iraq were able to hack into drones' live-video feeds with "$26 off-the-shelf software". In another unnerving incident, Wired reported in October that a fleet of the Air Force's drones was infected with a computer virus that captured all of drones' key strokes. Technicians continually deleted the virus to no avail. How did the drones get infected? The military is "not quite sure". Worse, the Air Force's cyber security team didn't even know about the virus until they read about it in Wired."Still believe the US b.s. about cyber-warfare NOT being responsible? the story has links throughout to back up what it says... http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2...4824829807.htmlanother little tidbit:"Wired reported in a separate story that an upcoming Congressional report will detail how hackers broke into the US satellite system. With one satellite, hackers "achieved all steps required to command" it, "but never actually exercised control"."

That's a lot of stuff packed into one article. I think there are three or four issues in there that each deserve an article of their own. I'm particularly fascinated by the recent advanced in spyware/virus technology. They are doing stuff now that seems like science fiction, and I've been a programmer for almost 3 decades. The idea that all our critical systems have already been hacked and are in the hands of patient but evil people should be a bit scary to everyone.....

Great story on how backwards the islamic community is and reason why they shouldn't be allowed to rule themselves.
An Egyptian news outlet has a report that is causing an unusual stir. According to the Bikya Masr news service, an Islamic cleric in Europe has ordered Muslim women to prevent “sexual thoughts” by staying away from bananas, cucumbers, carrots, zucchini, and other phallic produce. The unnamed sheikh reportedly advises that if women wanted to eat these kinds of food they would need to be cut into smaller pieces, in private, by a man — preferably a relative — because the foods “resemble the male penis” and could “make them think of sex.”

That's crazy! If she's a sorcerer, wouldn't you want to harness her powers instead of just killing her?
As well as harnessing her ability to charge $800 a session. That's money in the bank!
plus you would think that if she were a sorcerer she might have used those powers to, you know, not get beheaded.
Nah...this is similar to the old "If they are witches, they'll be able to swim out of trouble" axiom.
