adamkadmon 0 Posted May 17, 2005 Share Posted May 17, 2005 yesterday On the boob tube, there was a documentary on a young man who could recite pi to the 25,000 decimal, it took him about 5 1/2 hours. He also had the uncanny ability to be able to tell you if a number was prime, or he could tell you the sqaure root to the seventh power of any number.The amazing part was that although he possessed the gifts of an idiot savant he had none of the disabling traits. They took him to a casino and let him try his hand at blackjack. He was really losing big when he recieved 2 sevens. The dealer was showing a king up and he decided to split them up, he then received a third seven and split that as well. The end result was three 21's.He claims that he doesn't compute these computation in his head but rather the numbers just come to him in a colered textured landscape. The number 2 was red and kind of fleeting, the number 6 was difficult for him being it was almost absent but he was able to differentiate it by its' blackholedness, the number 9 he claimed was intimidating and full of splendor.His other gift was the ability to learn any language in a week. To test his claims they took him to Iceland and gave him a teacher for a week. after the week was up they put him on national t.v and interviewed him in icelander or whatever you call it. I thought the interview on that iclandic show was amazing as well, I couldn't believe he was able to learn a lot of the language in just a week, not to mention a very tough language at that.
