  1. Paul Phillips was far the highlight of the heads up championship today. Funny guy and the hobo beard accented his antics perfectly. As for "the collusion he thought he saw at the WPT," if you read his statements carefully (they're still on his blog), you'll understand his point was this:- He didn't say he thought they colluded.- He did think it looked like Hasan possibly softplayed Tuan.As for the difference between the two, I think this forum has covered that many, many times... Paul was mostly talking about how softplaying is dangerous for tournament poker and used the incident for EV calcu
  2. Set the rules with your home game and if you're at a tournament, ask about the ruling beforehand. Some places allow it. Some places don't. Yes, some places say your hand is dead even from a verbal declaration and some say you can do whatever heads up. But it depends on the tournament. Not all tournaments have the same rules. Ask before you play and you'll be fine.
  3. I know the WSOP used to have Chinese poker for a few years. Either the early 90's or the mid 90's, but it wasn't popular enough.
  4. 4 or 5 handed play. Forgot which since people kept leaving/joining. Somewhat loose cash game. 1-2 blinds. I have about 100 in chips.Cutoff limps, I look down at 7-6 offsuit on the button and limp (hasn't been a lot of preflop raising). SB folds, BB checks. Cutoff can be kind of random, but was pretty solid today. BB is somewhat loose and doesn't understand the concept of pot odds.Flop comes 8-9-10 rainbow. The pot is 7. BB bets 5, cut offcalls 5, I reraise to 17. BB calls, cutoff folds. There's 46 in the pot now and I have about 80 left.Turn is an offsuit 3. Pretty nice having a stra
  5. Yeah, I thought it was pretty bad etiquette, but somehow everyone got to the consensus that you only have to show the cards you're playing. We usually play hold'em so the rule was a little less ambiguous than say Omaha. Sadly, I can only find one other person who out of my small group of poker playing friends who will play anything other than Hold'em.Thanks for your responses guys. Makes a lot of sense. Hopefully my friends will stop the 1 card nonsense mpw. One time someone flashed me just an ace on the river and I refused to show my cards until he showed me the other card (turned out t
  6. Thanks a lot. Totally answered my question.Haha it is always funny when someone doesn't want to show their complete bluff and ends up mucking the best hand, even if it's a meager king high.
  7. Before anyone calls me an idiot...Maybe I should have posted in General. Forgot about that.
  8. I've never been to a real cardroom or played in a tourney so I'm not familiar with the *official* ruling on this. I'm sure it can be modified for home games. Oh, and sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I thought this was too on topic for off topic so it was a toss up between this or the tourney board. Anyway...When two players are showing down their hands, does a player have to show all of his cards? For example, in Hold'em, does he have to show both hole cards or can he only show one and say that's the only card he's playing from the hand? Same thing for Omaha (except with more card
  9. 6-8 (suited or off) is my favorite hand to bluff withI like ducks, 7-5, 5-3, and 3-4 also.As for good cards... I'm married to A-K
