KDawgCometh 2
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is MP1 with [8 ], [8 ]. 2 folds, Hero calls, SB calls.Flop: (9 SB) [8 ], [7 ], [3 ] (3 players)SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls, Hero calls.Turn: (10.50 BB) [K ] (3 players)SB bets, BB calls, Hero calls.River: (13.50 BB) [J ] (3 players)SB bets, BB folds, Hero calls.Final Pot: 15.50 BBreads: sb: is utter crap. He is generally a calling station(I had seen him call three cold only to fold the flop with no riase). He doesn't neccessarily have the flush draw, but I did wonder with how he played this hand.BB: solid TAGtype playerwho was capable of making a play at a pot. He norlmally played good cards and considering on the fact that he was at the table for at the most 40 hands I definetly needed to show him respect.should I have raised the turn or was I right to call it down
Emptyeye 0
From what I see, raise the turn, call a 3-bet. It's possible SB is on the draw, but calling stations don't usually wake up like that on just a draw; I'm guessing he hit two pair or MAYBE an underset on the flop (If he really is a calling station like you say). wrto4556 0
If the SB is passive he's not raising on a flush draw...it's too advanced for him.Pop it up on the turn and see what happens.I also don't like the raise preflop. Limp in and get more money in the pot.
Absolute 0
I think the raise PF is based entirely on the mood of the table. I think there are situations in which raising 8-8 from this position is more profitable than limping with it. IIRC, I think this is a hand Sklansky talks about specifically in regards to its PF play in early position. Ill trust KDawg made a good judgment about the table in this case.I am curious about how either of you feel about C/R the flop here. Would it not usually be for an extra couple bets against a PF aggressor who is TAG behind you?Raising the turn seems better (to see where you are), but I am a little bit drunk and probably see a lot of situations as betting ones at this point. I'm curious to hear why you think just calling here is better.
DCWildcat 0
This is a stupid question, but what do you mean by "TAG?"
Guest XXEddie
not too many people are going to cap w/ a flush draw, raise the turn
