  1. Unless you're looking for KEM cards simply for the name KEM, in my opinion they are not the best plastic cards out there and are the most expensive. The KEMs have a tendency to dish and warp after a lot fewer uses than you would think. I've had Copags for a year and a half and they are still perfect. I also just got a set of Modianos and I would also choose them over KEMs. They are very similar to the Copags but a little thicker. You can find the Copags and Modianos for about $15 a set too rather than the $25 for KEM. I know this isn't what you asked, but I've been pissed after having 3
  2. I don't necessarily mind taking a card off and calling on 4th street with two overcards at a loose, low limit table. There's no way I'm calling a big bet on 5th street though with all those dead diamonds. So, if not folding on 4th street, definitely folding on 5th. At first I was thinking if you do want to play the hand, check raising to try and get heads up would be better than calling, but it doesn't seem like you could get heads up here at this table even with the opponents facing 2 bets cold.
  3. I turned out that i think the guy played the hand tricky by not raising me on the flop or 4th street, because it looks like he was playing it cautiously because of the three diamonds on the flop.He ended up having QQ (not the Qd), making three of a kind on the turn and just calling my bet. It to me seems like he was playing it cautiously until filling up on the river. I would have assumed he would make a big reraise on the turn pushing out a flush draw, but that's just how I probably would have played it. This is one of those hands that you kick yourself for afterwords. I know it was stupi
  4. I posted this in the micro forum, but it was suggested that I post it here, so here it is.I've been playing poker for a few years, but mostly limit hold 'em, stud, and Omaha H/L, and NL Hold 'em tournements. I really don't have much experience with NL Hold 'em cash games. Just wondering how I played this hand. Some info about the hand: the opponent was pretty passive the whole time he was there, which wasn't too long before this hand. I put him on a diamond draw, not a made hand, and figured if the 4th diamond didn't hit, I was good.P.S. I tried using a converter that another poster recommende
  5. Thanks, I'll do that now. I didn't know where to find a hand converter. Will do that from now on.

  7. If one more person bluffs me out of a dry side pot that would have resulted in a player getting knocked out, I may seriously hurt them (which may be hard to do through the internet I guess).Sorry for wasting your time, just no one for me to complain to.
  8. You offer very little information upon which you can actually be given help on. There are some great players on this site with great advice, you should give them more than "I used to be good, but now I suck."
  9. I've played online for about a year, but since I played B&M before that, I never selected the 4 color deck option. I am just trying it now, and at first it's kind of annoying, but I'll give it a fair trial. I can, however, understand how it would be helpful multi-tabling, especially in stud.
  10. I would recommend Sklansky's book on stud. It is an "advanced" book assuming you have some knowledge of stud. I'm guessing that anyone that posts on this forum has some knowledge of stud, so it should be fine. It helped my stud game a lot.
  11. I signed up for pokerroom a couple of years ago just to look at the software, and forgot I even did it. So I didn't recognize the skin and used the same name for FCP. Now, as many of you have had the same problem, I can't log into the pokerroom skin version.I was just wondering what anyone who made the same mistake was going to do. I wouldn't imagine they're going to let me make 2 accounts with the same email address (since that's the one i used for the FCP charter member registration, I want to get the benfits). So I figured I might be screwed. If someone figures this out, it'd be much a
  12. There's a guy who plays in our home games who I can read very well. Everytime he makes what he thinks is a big laydown to me, he always shows it. If I feel like getting him tilting I'll show him my bluff and that he had me drawing dead. He then usually proceeds to dump the rest of his chips. However, he's my friend so I don't do this all the time....just once in a while, and then we can usually laugh about it the next day.
  13. Not to dwell on this, but doesn't it actually take more effort to type "som1s" than it does to type "someone's?" Maybe that's just me...
  14. The poster had a copy of his book on it, so I'm assuming some of it will be about poker. Plus, they don't hold lectures on mathmatics lectures in the biggest auditorium on campus...or advertise them. We'll see.
