  1. Yeah, no offense, but if you're going to use a term, use it correctly. To digress does not mean to disagree or even to respond to. Digress means stray off a topic when speaking/writing about it. Thus, by asking someone to "disgress", you're asking for your thread to be hijacked.Read The Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King for an interesting discussion on the topic.i am aware of this. after no response all i wanted was to talk about anything
  2. So is poker more about numbers or instinct? So many people on here drop numbers, how many of you who call based on the numbers are actually sucessful pokerplayers?
  3. Disagree. First in vigorish is key at this point in the tourney with an M of 5+, especially with BB sitting waiting for First in vigorish himself. If you wait till 15k and then start looking for first in vigorish and get it immediately the pot is 19500 and the BB has 12K to call, which is nearly automatic, unlikely to be worse than a 60/40 dog. If you get to 15k and are still waiting for a hand with better than a 60/40 edge you are likely to be down to 10,500 and every call is automatic.the key to tournaments is survival. if your are gonn aplay j Q here with a min raise and dump 6000 then eithe
  4. hand selectivity is key at this point in the tourney for you. I would have layed down the hand preflop. 24 000 in chips with the blinds 1500 3000 is alot of chips. i wouldnt worry until your down to 15 000 before you need to push. that gives you a couple rounds
  5. easiest way to avoid this situation is to have a strong startign hand selection. I see most people go bust with A 8 - A 10 to overpairs. When you are playign these types of hands you want them to be suited, you're looking for the flush not to hit your kicker.
  6. thats a tough hand. you have to make your decision on reads. whether he has been loose agreesive, or tight etc.Either way unlucky. he hit a two outer
  7. whats is his position and yours?ok well im going to assume he is not in the blinds.this is how i would play the hand after his min raise. Also assuming he has you covered in chips.his raise here may be a position raise if he has you on high cards. So in saying that i reraise here and make it 20 to go. If he comes back over the top all in well we have a decision to make. What is his table image? Has he been showing the nuts? Has he been pushing with top pair A kicker etc.You have to reraise none the less to find out some information on where you stand in the handalso if he did flop a set why wo
  8. This is always hard to figure out. First we need to figure out how the had was played out. Did someone limp with small pp and the call your raise? Do they check call there after? Is this cash game or tourney? What are the pot odds? Do you need to go buct on this hand if you are worng?More often than not i am willing to lay down when i have no read or if i dont have to jepordise my tournament life.
  9. and will lay down hands like hellmuth?Man yum yum is a douchebag
  10. agreed.i enjoy the pokerstars 10$ + rebuy MTT 45 000 gaurenteed everyday.
  11. relax i didnt mean anything buy it. all iwas tryign to say is that a fair well in tourneys, i am payign my way through university doing it and i enjoy the tourney over cash games.
  12. Don't let Smash see you seeing something like that.what do you mean.for myself i make more money in tournaments. I keep a book and over the last 4 months have profited 9500 from 20$ live rebuy tourneys with usually 100 - 140 entrants.
