Full Tilt Bad Beats Keep on Coming...

Recommended Posts

First I would like to ask how many of you play at Full Tilt? I have had ZERO luck there. This happened at a money table, No tournament. Both of us stacked with about $10. I just finished my last few dollars at Full Tilt and here is what i saw. I am sitting with pocket A K (offsuit) and only two of us stay in at a table of 8. He bets first I raise he calls. Flop is A 8 K ... He limps in. I am putting him at a pair of A or K (possibly small pocket pair). we are evenly stacked so instead of going all in I reraise half his stack. Hoping to keep him playing. He calls and the river brings another 8. Now I am only worried about him having a pocket 8, but cant imagine he stayed with just 8's based on me representing the best pair or 2 pair. I figure he only called half his stack because he has a pocket A or K. Well I go all in and he follows and wouldnt you know it he never even had A or K, just 6 8 off suit....... So that is why I am done with low limit games.I know I should have went all in with the A 8 K flop, but mostly that just limits your take. Also I would like to ask if any of you might have played this differently and if so how.

Let me add before anyone else does that beyond being a bad beat this is also an example of bad play. Perhaps partly on my part, but definetly on the other players part... Although he did win the hand so maybe it was just me....lol :D

I've experienced the same problems on FullTilt. The amount of bad beats I've had consecutively on there are rediculous. I've lost with AK the last 5 or 6 hands I've had'em. I've lost with Rockets last couple times as well. Not to mention 3 times I've had rockets on the big blind, everybody folded. Now I know that happens, but what are the odds that 3 hands in 1 nite you get rockets and not get 1 caller.

Yeh I don't know if something is going on or not, but I've done nothing but lose long term on Full Tilt. I'll have huge days where I take in alot of money and then the next week or two I'll be down more than the amount I won.... it's consistent but could be my play or the cards *shrug*

It's not just you. I withdrew my money from Full Tilt within just three hours of playing there. I had pocket kings four times in one $10 sit-n-go, and was forced to drop out twice when aces came on board with several people still in the pot betting feverishly. The next time I put a guy with A 6 all-in after tripping my Kings on a Q K A flop. A jack and a 10 came to make it a split pot. Finally, shortstacked with four players left, I went all-in with pocket kings against a slightly larger stack only to have him flip over 6s and hit... quads. (Even more cruelly, the flop was K 6 3, giving me higher trips, until his 6 came on the river, meaning I lost with Kings full). On the very next $10 sit-n-go I played, I folded my A 4 with a number of players left to act behind me. All told, five players went all-in preflop: one with AA, two with pocket Ks (only a straight would help them), one with AQ and one with pocket 7s. Even though I had folded my Ace, and the other three aces were out, the AA was in pretty dominant position... until the 7s tripped on the river. That player hauled in about 5000 in chips on that one hand, and I ended up getting bumped when he called my pocket 9s all-in with a 7 10 suited and caught a 10 on the turn.I got the distinct impression from that site that it was like a cartoonish family-oriented kiddie site whose motto could be "Everyone can be a winner." Even if the software there isn't rigged for the underdog, the types of players it attracts will drive you bonkers, because the only way to ensure victory in a pot is to wait for absolute nuts - and pray it remains the nuts after the river. With blinds escalating quickly, there's rarely enough time to wait for monster flops before making moves, rendering it survival of the luckiest.

I played there too, also with bad results. I did great at first and really liked the site interface, etc. I was up $1000 in the first 4 weeks playing mostly 5/10 and a little 5/10 NL. After the first few weeks the fish all got busted out and all that were left were tight- aggressive players. Over the next couple weeks, the table averages got so low (3.5 to 4.5 big bets) that the only people making money were the house. With the help of some bad cards, I lost a bunch of money during this period, the $1000 I won plus $100 of my bonus. Then something strange happened. All of a sudden, it just seemed like I was playing at Party Poker. Action flops and action boards on every hand. I just can't stand that, if you can't make a realistic poker site then I'll go play somewhere else. I know the table averages were too low but they could have done something besides that. Anyway, I haven't been back since I noticed that.

I cant believe that they supposedley have so many pros that play there.Again thanks for all of the response so far, now I feel much better about going back to pokerstars for good.By the way do any of you have other sites that are comparible to pokerstars with quality play and players?

I'll say this too, on Fridays and weekends on FullTilt it's basically "Raise and/or all-in Day" there. Today for example I only played for an hour and decided to take my earnings and call it a night because you actually risk your bankroll playing with these crazy people on Fridays.... argh, poker shouldn't be like that. So I generally play there for a bit and if I'm running good I'll play out a normal session, otherwise I'll get out early.I also played in a quick limit tournament and I played THREE hands and was out. I had pocket Kings and got busted by someone with trip 3s, ok no big deal that happens. Then I had pocket Queens and flopped a set and got busted by someone with a straight draw on the river, and then I had another pocket pair that I tripped up on to fall to a straight on the river.Arg.... three hands, I'm out. Just like that. And I'm totally able to accept that it's just the way the cards fall sometimes, but I don't think I've had such horrible experiences anywhere else, but I could just be biased.I'm gonna keep my money there until I get the rest of my bonus paid out and then I may leave.... not really sure yet. Might make Paradise my home away from PokerStars if I leave Tilt.... it certainly has tilted me that's for sure.

  • 2 weeks later...

Man O Man.... I still had about $20 in my acct so I decided to play a couple of tournaments nothing big, just $10. and a $5..1st tournament.1st table - I told myself to play it cool and tight, but I got hit with a pair of queens Qc Qs. what was I supposed to do.. so I raise $250... 2 players call. flop is Qd 6h 7s ... So I am feeling confident and decide to slow play a bit, so I bet $100. one guy folds and the other goes all in. So I am thinking he has the other queen or 2 pair and I call. He flops over AA and I am thinking I have it. (boy I should have remembered where I was at)... Turn comes 2d and well o well what do you think was on the river.... a big fat A....... aaahhhhhhhh I sighed and moved on.2nd table - I told myself the same thing.. Slow and tight. 100 people in a $5 tourney. but yet again I have Ah 9h .. so I call the limp in by one of the two players to stay. flop is Ad 8c 9c .... So this time I remember where I am and decide to play with caution. I am 3rd in betting order and 1st guy comes in with all in .. 2nd guy folds.. After some contemplation I decide to call with my two pair and he flips over As 6d..so here comes the turn 7s.. I am thinking no way is it going to happen to me again.... BUT alas... what comes on the river... 10 of something.. I dont even remember the suit... I just about put my fist through the monitor... oh well at least I am down to my last $5 bucks.. time to play some heads up and rebuild my stack so I can cash out and go back to Poker Stars.....

Last night I had K :) J :) pre-flop and raised to 2x the BB from late position. I get one caller right behind me. The flop comes J :club: J :) 9 :D so I bet out 10x BB to take the pot right here. Opponent calls. Next card is a rag, which I bet out the full size of the pot; again a call. Now I'm wondering if my opponent has 99 or maybe QJ or AJ. So the river brings a king, giving me a full house. Naturally I bet out again and my opponent raises me all-in. I call with confidence knowing that the only way I can lose is if he turns over two kings. Naturally, of course, pertaining to the rules of FullTilt poker, he had pocket kings. Who the hell calls two significant bets drawing to two @#%@#ing outs? wtf.... I was pissed.... not only did I lose four days of successful bankroll building, which is next to impossible on FullTilt it seems, but I was now just angry in general.I understand that these hands happen, and that I'm ok with. I have no problem saying nice hand when someone beats me with a great hand, or they played a hand well. This guy did not, and purely out of luck caught this card. Not to mention that it happend four other times last night in the same fashion, two of which were pre-flop all-in hands where I had Aces or Kings in the hole and hit trips on the flop only to be rivered by a full house or flush. It's just disgusting.... I will continue to play on FullTilt until the remainder of my bonus is paid out, but after that I don't know what I am going to do.... I might just move that portion of my bankroll over to Paradise and play there.... seems to be less 'fishy' in terms of the behavioral patterns of the cards. As someone mentioned somewhere above, the cards seem to be staged; that is you get a pocket pair, so do 2-3 other people at the table. This happens far too frequently to suggest complete statistical randomness. Please understand that I am against people who say online sites are rigged, I just can't believe it. I have been playing on PokerStars for years and I love it. I get sick of people saying "River Stars strikes again" and all that shit.... but to be honest the happenings on FullTilt are just far too frequent to be coincidental....

Tek is right on. I dont usually complain so much about a site and still would be skeptical in saying it is fixed, but man I have not seen such consistent bad beats on any other site in my past couple of years playing online. With that said.. I did play a heads up match after my last post and hit a royal flush in spades of all things.... :-) ... I took a screen shot of it for fun. but alas I still got beat after an hour of dominating this guy. I went all in at the right moments and he followed drawing everytime. But he always seemed to double his last $300 or $400 and then finally we both went all in on I with AQ and he with KQ and wouldnt you know it he hit the K on the flop...So now I can stop moaning and move back to my other favorite sites for good. Thanks for the posts here...

If you left out the name of the site in your post I would have figured you were talking about Party Poker. Granted I only play there so I can't compare it to other sites...but the bad beats that happen there just blow my mind sometimes. I too would like to believe that it's no trigged but sometimes you just wonder. A few examples (not all pertain to hadns that I was in) $10 SnG first hand I'm dealt AA in late postion (may have been the cutoff) UTG +1 goes all in. I hate it when clowns do this on the 1st hand (never understood trying to steal $25) so I call hoping to teach him a lesson. He turns up J4. Of course the floop comes JJ4 adn I'm done. Someone asked why he went all in and he said the screen was screwed up and he couldn't see his hand. Today I saw 2 all in hands were two players both ahd pairs and the one who was being dominated hit his only out on the river to win. Yesterday I was playing in another $10Sng it was down to heads up with me having $5500 and the other player having $2500. I get dealt A3 suited so I just limp in (A question RAISE HERE?) He calls and the flop comes 245 rainbow. I thorw out a small bet hoping to trap him and end the tourny. He raises quite a bit and I move all in to end it. YEAH RIGHT. He shows K5. The turn is a 4. And the river You Guessed it a 5 for the boat. I battled a little longer but ended up losing. That just blew my mind.
