tilted 0
After reading Daniel's last blog some frinds and I thought it would be fun to play a heads up tourney in our next home game. Has anyone ever tried this in their home games? How did it work out? Any thoughts?
Jubba 0
Only a few of my friends will play with me heads up. They like to play in ring games where they wait for premium hands and then make their move where as I like short-handed play, usually 5 or less, because I don't like to sit around and wait for AA, KK, QQ, or AK, like some of my friends. We never have tournaments heads-up though. Every now and then after a session, when everyone leaves it will be down to two or three and the last two decide to go heads-up for the rest of their chips. Its interesting, but I think a tournament would be a better senario. Maybe I should try to convince them...
tekn0wledg 0
I had one at my place the week of Thanksgiving. While they are fun, the people there just seemed to have no respect for heads up play and were playing unrealistically. We played a mixed game structure too, so that may have contributed.Just remember that a heads up tournament could potentially last longer than a normal tournament, particularly if it's a limit tournie. Downtown Parker 0
I rarely play limit holdem, because i feel stifled by the lack of leverage i can use, particularly due to my strategy of play. However, I like limit play heads up, because you have the natural leverage anyway once you get ahead. I also like how if you get down, even with limit, one good sized pot gets you right back in it.
