fischman on the dl...

Recommended Posts

Ok I know many of you are scott fischman fan's, but right now he is on Stars and is using the 'hide from search' feature (DL) and playing a bunch of Heads Up mathes (1k and 500) and sitting in a 100/200 limit table in between. To say that he is taking a beating would be an understatement. As I have been watching, he is 1 and 4 in the HU matches and is bleeding badly at the 100/200 Limit table. Sure this could be attributed to variance, but watching him play HU, he is not playing well at all, overplaying top pair no kick and heavily overplaying all of his draws. That seems to be his style in Tourney's but HU that is a recipe for disaster.L*

2nd dumbest.post.ever.(besides toogood's posts)
Didn't we do this in a thread a couple days ago? If toogood's posts are the dumbest ever, then some by JFarrel had to be much worse than this post.

he's still new to the poker world. He's playin like a tourney player and has to learn to adjust to live action. Otherwise, i can see him winnin money in tournies only to lose it in side action.
LOL. He is NOT that new to the poker world. Last time I checked, he has 2 WSOP bracelets and is at the final table of another one today. He ain't that new buddy, but good try.

About it being a pretty dumb post. More of just an update and I rarely if ever see Fischman playing HU. I am curious as to why so much HU. Is he practicing for a HU match? Maybe w/ one of our favorite player...

Actually, might be practicing for heads up potentially at today's final table. Seeing as how he butchered his last heads up match, barely escaping with runner runner 2 pair against Joe Awada.

Fischman is an excellent player, he has lots of cashes in the past year. He won 2 bracelets last year. One of those was the HORSE title, and HORSE is probably a better indicator of poker skill than winning the "main event".He also finished 2nd 4 times since then in tournies, and 1st 0 times. Looks like he is smart enough to practice his heads up skills since his full table skills seem to be in excellent shape. Aside from doing homework of one sort or another the best way to get better at heads up is to play heads up. To make it meaningful you need to play high quality opposition, so it is not a surprise he is losing if he needs the practice. And thanks for pointing out how lucky he was to beat Awada heads up. I forgot about that. Yes, he needs the practice.

Hmmmmm, now that I think about it is is entirely possible (probable?) that he is trying out different strategies to see how they pan out. He wrote an article on playing in lower stakes and doing just that. Of course, I don't know what "normal" heads up stakes for him is either....

didn't he win those two bracelets last year? He's new.............like you. Only he's better than you. Nice try your asss!!!!!! I give him credit for learnin how to play tournies. He picked it up pretty fast. But,.......................................HE'S NEW. Even he would admit that. Two years of poker doesn't equal veteran. He has alot to learn still. And so do you!!!!!!!

Well this is all suspect since Fishman is 2nd in chips for the final table in the first WSOP event that starts in a couple of hrs. Its amazing that if someone is playin bad or made a bad call how quick we are to question them..... Im not a big fan of his but his performance last year in WSOP and already one final table in first event this year....the guy is clutch.

I think Scott Fischman has probably played more hands of poker in the past 2 years than any human alive, calling him new is just plain crazy, he has played enough hands for 20-25 yrs of poker, Fishcman is one of the best in the game and is only gonna improve, he plays poker constantly and should be praised for logging so many hours, not questioned!

I saw him or whoever was playing for him win over $10K yesterday in a $320 buy in NL tourney on stars yesterday. In addition to making the final table today out of 2500, I don't think he's having too bad a week.
