i don't see him accepting this trade... seems like a good deal for padres if it goes through
How can you say that when we don't even know all the players in the deal?

Yeah we do. Well we know 2 of the 4 and those 2 are the ones that matterAaron Poreda and Clayton Richard, two decent pitching prospects.

I know what you're saying but why say "yes we do" when we don't know all four? Yes, I'm aware of those two. Just based on that, I think the trade is pretty good for both teams. I trust KW

just the two players alone make it a good deal in my opinion. i love peavy as a ball player but his contract is ridiculous, especially considering it grows as he gets older

Yeah I gotcha. All I can say is that I trust what Kenny Williams is doing. He's traded away young talent like McCarthy, Ring, Rauch, etc and it has usually worked out in his favor.

670 The Score in Chicago reports the deal is dead. From their website:And just like that the dream for the White Sox is dead.A source close to the Jake Peavy camp has said that the pitcher has notified the San Diego Padres that he will not accept the trade to the South Side, killing the deal that would have sent four players West and put Peavy in black and white. There is no indication of the Padres have notified the Sox yet, but his team knows. The Peavy talk has been a whirlwind since early this morning, when the San Diego Union-Times broke the story that the veteran was called into the office of manager Bud Black and asked if he would push his no-trade clause to the side and play for the Sox.The pitcher spoke to Sox reliever Scott Linebrink about the Sox and manager Ozzie Guillen, gathering as much information as he could.According to the source, Linebrink did a good selling job, and it seemed Peavy was leaning toward accepting the trade, but after an evening of thinking about it, as well as talking with his family, he was not ready to leave San Diego for an American League team.

bumpSox get Peavy and give away Richard, Russell, Poreda, Dexter Carter.I'm not really sure what to think about this. Peavy's still injured and probably won't be back until late August but I think he's signed through 2012. I really wish they would have held onto Richard because I think he'll be really good. Damn, never know what to think but hopefully Kenny Williams has this one right.

Could be good for next year if he stops sucking when he recovers. Plus he's bad away from Petco.Potential though.
Yeah, not sure how he'll do in a hitter's ballpark but the Sox offense is a little better than the Padres so that could help a little.
