MY NEW BOOK, FAMOUS GAMBLERS, POKER HISTORY, and TEXAS STORIES is for sale on all Amazons. Writer for Bluff Magazine, Bluff Europe, . Reviews, excerpts. on AMAZONS.
  1. A New Poker Cheating Method In Austin, Texas a cheater took thousands of dollars from several of the underground games with a new way to cheat. He sat across from the dealer. He had a cell phone looking device sitting on the poker table in front of him. It was really a scanner reader to read the bar codes in the cards. He wore a tiny ear phone under his large ear phones. The dealers were confederates and were allowed to bring their own cards. The cheater was a well-known personal injury lawyer. Historically, cheating is way more rare than anyone thinks, especially historians
  2. Of course, my book has paragraphs at the right times . Check out Amazon for sample free about Nick the Greek and Johnny Moss. Kindle look inside. Any questions of anything y'all would like me to write about?
  3. Bob wants a paragraph more often than the experienced editors I worked with. A paragraph for a sentence is done but for a reason. Makes me look like I had not published each and every month for five years in poker magazines. They have space considerations. Player Ireland two years, Bluff Europe three years, every month. I never wrote this way before!
  4. If I wrote like that my book would be 34,000 pages long. I'll check y'all some other time.
  5. Bob, thanks for your feedback. You tell me exactly what you want me to do, and I'll do that. I am new here and want to please you where I will be allowed to post. I know my writing is not universally loved. However, my new book has the best line-up of rave reviews of any gambling book, ever. Doyle Brunson, Poker Hall of Fame, says "you have a great writing style, very credible." Doyle and one of his best friends, Crandell Addington, also of the Poker Hall of Fame, gave me fabulous reviews for my poker history. Those two are often quoted by me. They are my best sources and pen pals. Anthony Hol
  6. The newspaper did not report winnings and losings. Benny and Moss had IRS troubles. They would not want publicity on the $2 million that Nick the Greek lost. The newspaper did not evenm write that Benny owned clubs. He was listed in the newspaper as the restaurant manager. The second newspaper, the Hank Greenspun controlled Las Vegas Sun's founding in the 50s was a huge national story for a few years. Senator McCarran called from Washington and asked the Mob casinos, nearly all the Strip casinos to boycott Greenspun's newspaper. He found out, sued the newspaper and casino bosses such as
  7. I was banned at TwoPlusTwo, but I probably deserved it. I made fun of mods, a no no. Humor is calling leveling, and as a comic writer, I can't live without it. My big offense was to write GOOGLE DOC T RIVER POKER. He was my stalker, giving me great trouble. He pretends to be a big poker expert, always challenging me to play heads up. The search showed he plays tourneys for a whole buck entry, but he is a great book reviewer of advanced books. I love to write poker history, often writing about folks I have known: Benny Binion, Johnny Moss, Amarillo Slim, Doyle Brunson and
  8. Good idea. I've done some radio shows. Anybody wants to reach me, jchughej@aol.com I am available any old time. I know gambling history and research all the time. My book are both memories of old gamblers and research. The last thing I wrote was about professional gamblers who were also famous gunfighters, Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Bat Masterson, Luke Short, and Ben Thompson.
  9. Thank you, Bob. You are right. If y'all like Wyatt Earp, I have a two-part on BluffEurope.com now. I'm getting obsessed with him. I was reading about Daniel and charity and came here.
  10. I am donating 100 per cent of the income from my new book to a veteran of Iraqi Freedom. She has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. FAMOUS GAMBLERS, POKER HISTORY, and TEXAS STORIES has rave reviews you can see on Amazon from Poker Hall of Fame Members Doyle Brunson and Crandell Addington, International Federation of Poker President, Anthony Holden, WSOP Media Director Nolan Dalla, Lou Krieger, Dr. Pauly, Ryan Sayer, Blair Rodman and others. Amazon has a description, table of contents, reviews, and my introduction. If you know anyway to tell folks about this, I'd appreciate hel
  11. Have you been watching these women from the Polygamy Sect in Texas? I am thinking those long dresses and long hair piled up will start a fad. I love those dresses in pale colors, all the same style. I am thinking hard of forming a company to sell dresses like that on the Internet. What do you think? Will it work? Will the fad catch on?Have you seen the group of Polygamist women talking on TV? That blond one in the middle is incredibly hot. She could hit the morning talk shows and be as famous as Obama's preacher.Johnny Hughes, West,Texas
  12. I agree that Ungar would not stand up as well against today's young Internet players. His aggression of those times would not be so special. I have always thought that Ungar's advantage was putting people on a range of hands, then betting more than they could call with what he put them on. I think this opponent reading skill came from his special talents at gin rummy. I also agree that his rude behavior was another mark against him.
