Temporary Nuts 1
So... what part about putting a cent in on the river is +EV?
Acid_Knight 2
Were you planning to bet/fold the turn? If not, then you should really put in a lot more $$ on the turn. This is a small trainwreck.
simo_8ball 0
So... what part about putting a cent in on the river is +EV?I'm bluffing. I don't expect to have the best hand there unless he has pretty much exactly AJ, KK or AA without a club. However, I think that I have some fold equity over a few hands that are ahead of me with the board being that scary even for AdQd or JT or something. I need ~28% fold equity for it to be +EV. If not, then you should really put in a lot more $$ on the turn. This is a small trainwreck.Yeah, I use FullTiltShortcuts, and it sets the bar to 2/3 pot on the turn. I didn't tweak it higher and I should have.EDIT: Without the program my normal bet here would be ~$23.This was a bet/fold line because he's so passive. If he raises he has me beat >95% of the time. Same for the flop. If he shoves the flop I snap fold.
krup24 0
overbet shove the turn and expect to get called by naked Q's or a high club on occassion? too many cards kill our action/hand on the river.
Craigdog 0
pretty damn ugly hand imo Simo... i'm struggling to find a hand which you beat on the river despite the villian stats, the flop play is fine but the turn lead is pretty ugly and the river is setting fire to cash. I'm not value betting the river. If it comes an offsuit 8 I'm check/folding. This was just a good card to bet to get him to fold JT, a set, a queen, etc. at least some of the time. simo_8ball 0
Villin snapcalled the river with the Jack Eight of Spades. Decided not to bluff him again.EDIT: Actually trying to think about how many hands in my range he beats here other than T9 or QJ.

He beats T9 and T8 and 89 and air.
Sheiky 0
Meh, when i get to this spot on the turn i click the max bet button and stick in there hoping he calls with AcXx or something. I don't really like betting anything else because it always leaves you with some gay decision if the villain continues with the hand.

I very rarely bet the turn with T8 and 89 against this guy though. I don't always bluff the river with two pair either.Funny that this analysis rarely happens after winning a pot./shrugI don't overbet enough. I should do it far more I think. If it's good enough for Brad Booth, it's good enough for me.
Moneyball16 0
Id also lead the flop here. Since the guy is passive this flop is gonna get checked through alot.
simo_8ball 0
Id also lead the flop here. Since the guy is passive this flop is gonna get checked through alot.I lead most big hands in these situations, but I don't like the prospect of betting, getting 2 callers and being totally clueless on the turn. Or, if I lead and get raised, I'm often going to be forced to get allin with bottom 2 on a very bad board where I could be drawing dead.If I checkraise the flop, I know if I get shoved on I'm beat and if they call I'm very likely to be ahead. mtdesmoines 3
Slow down or speed up on the turn. Turns are essential in hold em.

mtdesmoines 3
Go back to Iowa.Go to Hell.Stay in Iowa.On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the temps crawled above 40 degree F for three days for the first time since the beginning of October and just about all the snow melted. Yesterday, parts of the state had 6 inches of snow.
