  1. What happens to the pot if everyone (or everyone who makes it to the end) fouls?
  2. Here's a game you don't come across often - Pass the Trash Hi/Low 8 or better. Played a crazy hand of this in my home game a few weeks ago, and I'm curious what people think I should have done. (cross posted from another poker forum) There were a lot of people in the hand (5 got to showdown) so I'll call players P1 and P2 based on when their position relative to the dealer (I would be P6, or the cutoff had we been playing Hold'em). Obviously there isn't a ton of information in this game. Everyone holds seven cards, and you only know what you've passed to other players and how confid
  3. Cardplayer (SpadeClub) a ClubWPT are loving this ... anyone ever use those subscription-based sites?
  4. IMO if it's not heads up, it's against the rules to reveal your hand because you're giving the other player who is yet to make a decision valuable information. If he said it after the hand, then it'd be fine.I could be wrong, but I shouldn't be.
  5. Ugh. Thanks for giving me that mental image.
  6. I've been reading these boards for awhile now, just starting to get involved in the conversation. Just read a brag post which detailed tournament results for like 6-7 tournaments in one day (well done Jambot).Got me to thinking how much some of you guys are able to play. It's rare that I'd find more than 5 hours a week to play, and I rarely have time to sit down for a big MTT, but I know there are some on these boards who are making a living playing online/live.So how much do you play? And if you play more than 20 hours a week, do you also have a full-time job? Or are you a college student?Sor
  7. I laughed. Is there going to be a progress report after each event so we can see who's ahead in each pairing and how we're doing with our picks? That'd be sweet - though I'm not gonna complain one bit about the contest, this is nice.Trying to do the FTP fantasy one too, but you've got to pick 15 runners in each event ... a little harder to do, especially if you don't know exactly what they're going to enter when there's two tourneys in a day (some will be easier to figure than others ... like DN will post what his plans are, but it's tough to research 100-some odd players), or if they're going
  8. Well done Donk! If you keeping increasing your bankroll 8x every four months, in two years you'll have $13 million and can retire. A man can dream!
  9. Back when I was between jobs, I was young and stupid and instead of saving my precious $$, I played in a few $5.50 MTTs on PokerRoom.com (this was a long time ago) between searches on Monster.com. I ended up scoring wins in the same tournament on back to back days to win about $900 total. I just about fainted the second time I did it, and no, I've never done anything approaching the same since. Was pretty huge at the time for me, was out of work and it gave me time to find what ended up being a great job ... writing about poker, believe it or not. In a way, it was probably good that I was unemp
  10. The reason I picked Barry in this is because he's more likely to play the non-hold'em events and make final tables. Sure, Ferguson will probably get through 95 percent of the field in one, maybe two of the $1500 NL events, but in order to really get a sizeable cash he'll have to finish in the top 3-4. Barry will probably make it to 3-4 final tables and have more moderately sized cashes, so I think Barry will take this one easily ... unless Ferguson makes it deep in a NL event with a big field, then he runs away with it.
  11. I believe PokerRoom.com used to offer it, but they stopped taking US players post-UIGEA and then went busto a month or two ago.
  12. I've played at Pitbull, but only in freerolls and with the money I won off those freerolls. The traffic there is really slow, not much action, and it's only NL hold'em, and generally just low stakes. If you want to have any sort of game selection, go elsewhere.Only cashed out once, and I got a check 2-3 weeks after I requested it.
  13. I'd say it's likely one has A-5 and the other might have A-5-6, or A-5-4-4 or wheel and two pair, and then you're drawing to one out for the high and two outs to be quartered. Not the odds I'd like to be facing.
  14. To build from freerolls, I would say play on PitbullPoker.com. I would never advise you to make a deposit there, because they'll add an instant bonus to it and then will refuse to release any money until you complete the conditions they set forth. However, they have $25 freerolls that are limited to 300 entrants and that pay 18. It's pretty easy to make it to the money, I'd say if you focus all your energy on it you could have $20 in a week. They also have $25 "freerolls" with rebuys that aren't all that difficult to cash in without rebuying, because most of the people don't have a balance to
  15. I haven't played there in a couple of months. I played for awhile after the scandal and found the low stakes stud hi-lo games very beatable (esp. w/bonus cash coming back ... since AP bases bonus release on when you've contributed to the pot, I played stud since you contribute an ante in every hand). Found I was just breaking even though for a month or so, so I withdrew my balance there.
